During Silas' attack on the radio hut, Dylan gets his left arm bitten, which prompts Ryan to possibly amputate it. It will then be bandaged by Kaitlyn. Alternatively, Dylan can be bitten in the forearm and/or arm by werewolf Emma and Silas, respectively.
The first chance for Dylan to get infected is during Chapter Five. If the door to Cabin 10 was broken into in Chapter One by Abigail and Emma, then Dylan will get bitten by a werewolf on his hand while reaching for a wire. Do not cut off his hand, and he will stay infected.
You will be given the choice of whether you want to cut off his hand to stop the infection. Make sure you choose the “Desperate” option when you are prompted after Dylan is bitten to cut off his hand to save his life. You will also get the Just a Flesh Wound Achievement.
It is still possible to save Dylan if the monster bites his hand by using Ryan to amputate it before the infection spreads. This is best done by choosing the CONFIDENT dialogue option and then the CHAINSAW to successfully cut Dylan's arm off.
Nick is one of nine playable characters in The Quarry and also happens to be the first character that becomes infected by the werewolf curse.
Be sure to SHOOT CHRIS, the monster on the left. Killing him is the only way to save everyone as his death ends their werewolf curse.
In Chapter 3, Nick will always be attacked and bitten by Silas. Although players can choose to save or kill Nick in The Quarry, being bitten by Silas means that he can only be cured if Silas is killed by Laura at the end of the game.
If Ryan refuses to do this (via the "TERRIFIED" dialogue option), the infection in Dylan's hand will spread until reaching its conclusion at the scrapyard during Chapter 9.
In the interest of ultimately keeping Dylan alive, Ryan will have to blow his hand off with the shotgun. Not ideal, but Dylan will survive. Of course, if you chose differently with regards to the cabin, Dylan survives and doesn't lose his hand.
Didn't Release the Gun
Regardless of the choice, Kaitlyn will tell Jacob that they're keeping the gun to defend Nick. He'll get angry at the campers and storm off to find Emma. Meanwhile, Jacob will pitch the idea of wheeling Nick back to the lodge using the wheelbarrow.
If you choose Dare, Ryan will be told to kiss Dylan or Kaitlyn. If you choose Dylan, the two will share a quick kiss. Dylan's body language and facial expressions after the kiss make it clear that he's excited that this happened, as he sits back down and giddily smiles.
Laura Kearney
Although she has at least four potential deaths in Chapters 9 and 10, the awesome female horror game protagonist Laura's inextricable link with Ryan makes her survival more difficult than many.
If Dylan is infected in Chapter 5 and Ryan does not cut off his hand, Dylan's survival is guaranteed, as Silas (and possibly Emma) won't attack him, he'll turn into a werewolf and no one can kill him.
Both Kaitlyn and Dylan have a crush on Ryan, made evident by Dylan's furtive flirting alongside Kaitlyn outwardly stating it to Jacob in Chapter 1. Ryan himself mentions later on that he doesn't mind the attention he receives from either of them, hinting that he isn't attracted to just a single gender.
Travis Hackett is a supporting character and potential antagonist in The Quarry. He is the sheriff of the small town of North Kill, located in Upstate New York. He was voiced and motion captured by Ted Raimi.
Abigail, Ryan, and Kaitlyn are the only protagonists who can get infected, but never turn into werewolves.
Sadly, while Dylan is reaching for the cable, the werewolf bites his hand, thus infecting him. In a desperate state, Dylan tells Ryan to cut his hand as the infection is spreading too fast.
When Ryan is given the option to shoot Dylan's hand off with a shotgun or use a nearby chainsaw, the absolute best option is to use the chainsaw. The shotgun blast is not guaranteed to lift the lycanthropic curse but the chainsaw will, allowing both characters to survive and move on.
Then, in Chapter 5, Dylan will be forced to grab the wire that was previously disconnected by the werewolf. As he reaches the roof, Dylan's hand will be bitten by a werewolf. Afterward, Ryan will be given the option to cut off Dylan's hand in order to prevent his wolf blood from spreading.
While Dylan is operating the crane, he will notice something triggering the lights in the distance. Make sure he hits the horn in the crane and warn Kaitlyn. If he warns her enough, the creature will jump down the crane towards him. Succeeding in the QTE will save Dylan.
Chapter 5 - Ryan
When reaching up towards the roof, Dylan's hand will be bitten. As a result, Ryan will be given the option to cut off Dylan's hand to prevent the infection from spreading.
If Dylan climbs down the ladder he will loosen a rung, which breaks if Abigail tries to climb the ladder later.
Ryan will then tell the group that the girl in the pool is Kaylee Hackett, Chris' daughter. He thought she'd left camp but she was evidently still at Hackett's Quarry.
Abigail Rescues Nick (Chapter 3)
Here, Nick gets unavoidably bitten, which passes on the infection and will cause him to turn into a werewolf. In order to keep Nick alive, Abigail has to choose HELP NICK when given the choice.
To get the White Wolf Achievement, players should make sure to choose the RAISE GUN option and then shoot Silas to cure everyone. The Quarry is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
