Dust mites are repulsed by the smell of Clove, Eucalyptus, Lavendar, Peppermint, and Rosemary. Make your own aromatic spray by adding a few drops of one (or more) of those essential oils in a water-filled spray bottle.
In the laboratory experiments more than 80% of mites were killed after immersion in 0.2% and 0.4% solutions of eucalyptus oil for 30 and 60 minutes (Fig. 1).
Sprays and aerosols containing syngergized pyrethrins should kill mites immediately on contact, though the treatment will only remain effective for up to a few hours. Insecticide sprays containing permethrin or bifenthrin are effective against many mites and should retain their killing properties for several weeks.
A study done by the University of Sydney, Australia, says that adding Eucalyptus oil to your wash will eliminate 99% of dust mites from the bedding.
Vinegar is highly acidic and will kill just about any mite that crosses its path.
Another brilliant way of removing dust mites and the faeces of your mattress is by sprinkling baking soda over it, letting it sit for 15 minutes, and then hoovering it off. The baking soda will collect the dust mites, therefore the hoover will pick up the mites much more easily.
Killing dust mites in your curtains, clothes, and bedding
All you'll need is a washing machine, dryer, food-grade hydrogen peroxide 3%, and laundry detergent. The heat from the hot water and the antimicrobial properties of the hydrogen peroxide 3% are sure to kick those mangy mites to the curb.
They found that the most effective essential oil against both lice and mites was tea tree oil. Lavender was the second most effective, and lemon oil the least, but still effective.
Another great essential oil to help eradicate dust mites and bring you relief is Lavender essential oil. Known for its calming properties, spraying lavender on bed sheets can also make dust mites flee.

Steam cleaning can also kill dust mites at 200 degrees, so try using a steam cleaner on your carpet and upholstered furniture once per season.
Essential oils contain compounds that repel or kill insects, including dust mites. The best essential oils for getting rid of dust mites are clove, rosemary, and eucalyptus oil. Add 20 drops of oil to four ounces of witch hazel, and spray your mattress, couch, drapes, and other dust mite hangouts.
Permethrin is safe and effective when used as directed. Permethrin kills the scabies mite and eggs. Permethrin is the drug of choice for the treatment of scabies. Two (or more) applications, each about a week apart, may be necessary to eliminate all mites.
3. Eucalyptus Essential Oil For Scabies. The anti-bacterial properties of eucalyptus essential oil make it an effective oil for treating scabies. In addition to that, you can also use this essential oil for repelling insects, bugs, etc., for getting rid of unwanted insect or mosquito bites.
While tea tree oil's full mechanism of action against Demodex mites is unknown, tea tree oil causes the Demodex mites to migrate out of the skin, which may make it easier for treatments to take action against them (Liu 2010).
Vaseline or petroleum jelly alone cannot kill the scabies mites. 5% to 10% Sulfur when mixed with petroleum jelly and applied over the skin, effectively manages scabies mites.
Kill dust mites immediately with tea tree oil
Tea tree oil has a range of household uses, one of them being an effective yet natural pest control. This natural oil has antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal properties and when made into a spray can effectively treat dust mites on a range of furniture.
Dry vacuuming doesn't pick up dust mites. Consider steam cleaning carpets when possible. In addition to cleaning the carpet, the heat of the steam kills dust mites. You can buy chemicals (ascaricides) that kill dust mites and that you can use on carpeting and furniture.

To eradicate bird mites, treat the area with an approved insecticide such as a surface spray or insecticide powder. A registered pest controller may be required if the nesting material is inaccessible or large areas are involved.
