Enmu is Muzan Kibutsuji's loyal, fanatical subordinate, holding the rank of Lower Rank One in the Twelve Kizuki, and serves as a major antagonist in the Mugen Train Arc where he tries to kill Tanjiro for Muzan, delighting in manipulating others' dreams for suffering, and was personally chosen by Muzan to survive a purge due to his unique devotion.
Enmu in turn was seen to harbor the utmost respect and admiration for Muzan despite his now hostile view of him and the other Lower Ranks, as seen where he was completely confident on Muzan's power and showed both pity and delight upon seeing Wakuraba's attempt to run away and knowing he stood no chance of surviving or ...
Muzan gave him his blood which made him more powerful, that's why he was so excited, because he admires and maybe obsesses over people more powerful than him since it's mentioned that he wants to he an upper moon demon.
With those last words, his heart and brain stopped working, eventually leading Muzan to turn him into a demon. Enmu knew that he had been transformed by Muzan on a whim and would only remember him in passing, so Enmu did his best to ascend to the rank of Lower Rank One.
Muzan then decided Enmu was worth keeping alive so he can attack the demon slayers and gave him more of his blood making him stronger, promising him more blood if Enmu can kill Tanjiro or the Hashira.
Did Muzan have Favorites?
Muzan has always been a rational character, but fans believe killing his doctor is the only time he regretted taking a life.
While many Hashira died in the fight, some survived: Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, and Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, both survive the final fight, carrying on the memory of their fallen comrades. Tanjiro also survives, and after the war, the Demon Slayer Corps disbands because demons are gone for good.
