God was not speaking of a single person's lifespan but of the time until the flood would come. In 120 years, a flood would come and erase all life from the earth. Notice in v. 3 the Lord said that man's days "were numbered," referring to a coming judgment.
In the Bible, Jesus himself never promises that a person's life lasts threescore and ten, or 70 years. However, Psalm 90:10 does make a reference to that period of time, saying, "The days of our years are threescore years and ten." Since a "score" means 20, "threescore and ten" refers to the number 70.
In many cultures, the number 40 carries profound symbolic meaning. It represents a period of transition, purification, and spiritual transformation. The 40-day period is often seen as a time for the departed's soul to complete its journey to the afterlife, seeking forgiveness, redemption, and peace.
If a thousand years on earth is like one day in heaven (which may not be the case—compare the twenty-one angelic days in Daniel 10:13), this still is a comforting thought, particularly regarding our believing loved ones who are waiting to reunite with us.

490 is the numerical value of the biblical Hebrew word “tamim” which means to “complete,” “perfect,” or “finished.” A person who can't forgive will always live an imperfect, and incomplete life that lacks a true understanding of the “finished” gracious work of the cross.

If a person is resurrected to life in heaven, they no longer have a physical body. Not only does this mean you would not need to sleep you also would not eat or drink and have no gender or sex. Those who are resurrected to life in heaven will serve alongside Jesus as kings and priests for 1,000 years.
You will live and breathe and worship and work and fellowship and enjoy all the good things of God's new heaven and new earth in your new resurrection body which will be specially designed to take advantage of all that the new heaven and earth has to offer.
