Since Kiriya Ubuyashiki announced the disbanding of the organization, Tanjiro doesn't get the chance to become a Hashira. The series also features an extended finale set in modern-day Japan.
As things stand, Tanjiro is progressing through the ranks slowly but surely. If the Demon Corps is smart, they'll properly account for Tanjiro's ability to go up against the Twelve Kizuki; his role in the defeat of an Upper Rank for the first time in over 100 years should be taken into account.
He definitely did better than all the hashira almost solo. When people say muzan was in bad shape tanjiro started fighting literally right after all the other hashira got destroyed.
Unfortunately, the answer to this question would be, no, he did not. Zenitsu, along with Tanjiro and Inosuke got way stronger than average corps members with training. In fact, he became one of the very few to even invent a new form of Thunder Breathing. However, his dream of becoming a Hashira was never realized.

The Thirteenth Form of the Sun Breathing Style is unique in the sense that it doesn't really have a name of its own. Rather, it's a combination of all the twelve forms present in this style, used in succession to maximize their power. This move was devised by Tanjiro solely to defeat Muzan.
Inosuke Hashibira (嘴平 伊之助) is one of the two tritagonists (alongside Zenitsu Agatsuma) of the 2016-2020 fantasy horror manga/anime series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and its 2020 stage play.
When it comes to pure strength, Shinobu Kocho is the weakest Hashira in Demon Slayer. She doesn't even have enough strength to decapitate a demon's head and she makes up for it by injecting poison into the demons.

1/10 Tenth Form: Constant Flux/The Dragon of Change
The most powerful water move in Tanjiro's current skill set, this is a form that gets more and more powerful with each rotation that he puts in. It's number one on the list because it has, theoretically, no ceiling when it comes to its intensity.
Through his acrobatic skills, swordsmanship prowess and sense of smell, Tanjiro managed to successfully decapitate the demon. Tanjiro's extraordinary combat prowess and superhuman physical attributes allowing him to overpower Rui, a member of the Twelve Kizuki.
Tanjiro is certainly strong in his own right, and he's strong enough to defeat many of the characters in the series, whether they be demon or Demon Slayer. But he's also basically a newbie within the Demon Slayer Corps, so there are still plenty of characters still able to defeat him.
She was ranked in 3rd place in the first Demon Slayer character popularity poll with 3,319 votes. IGN regarded Nezuko as one of the series's most popular characters and noted how her design elaborates the way she sees humans as good people as a result of hypnosis.
Nezuko is at least stronger than Daki, meaning that if Muzan could bring her back under his control, she would certainly qualify for the most prestigious title a demon can hold: a member of the Twelve Kizuki. Thanks to Nezuko's remarkable strength, she would have to be an Upper-Moon.
Sound Hashira
He is the fastest Hashira, and the second physically strongest. Obviously, then, Tengen Uzui is rather proud. He is demanding, fussy, boastful, and prone to selfishness. But he is also ultimately kind and caring, with great love for his three wives as well as the other Hashira.
Mitsuri. The love Hashira and upcoming featured character of season 3, Mitsuri is best known for her extreme affection for everyone in the Demon Slayer Corps.
Despite his age, Muichiro is immensely skilled in swordsmanship, and his strength can overpower even the older Hashiras of the Demon Slayer Corps. He single-handedly defeated Upper Rank Five, Gyokko.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki has a very unique ability. He might not possess combat abilities, and yet, he is respected by every single Hashira in the series. His heightened sense of foresight was crucial in avoiding casualties that could have crumbled the Demon Slayer Corps.
Tanjiro Is Strong, and Stronger than Zenitsu as he uses Sun Breathing.
Even 400 years later, Muzan's fear of Yoriichi remained fully intact, as simply laying eyes on Tanjiro's hanafuda earrings caused him to recall their clash.
This Breathing Style is solely used by Michikatsu, who was one of the first Demon Slayers who utilized Total Concentration Breathing. Even after he became a demon, he continued to use it.
8/10 Tanjiro Is The Only Living User
On the other hand, Sun Breathing can, presently, only be performed by Tanjiro Kamado. Though its techniques can be taught to others provided they have the guidance of a Kamado, there are no other known users who are currently alive.
