Dooku Wanted to Destroy the Sith and the Jedi With Obi-Wan Obi-Wan thus turns down Dooku's offer to take down the Sith and Jedi together. Hoping that Obi-Wan would come around and partner with him, Dooku was disappointed to find where Obi-Wan's loyalties resided.
How Count Dooku Planned to Betray Palpatine Before Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. For his short time as a Sith, Count Dooku was well aware of Star Wars' Rule of Two. In fact, he even planned on replacing Palpatine before Order 66.
The theory states Count Dooku wanted to overthrow both the Republic and Palpatine in turn in order to establish something far greater: an aristocratic utopia, with him at the head and at his right hand, of all people, Obi-Wan.
Did Dooku have a plan to overthrow Palpatine? No. Dooku understood that he would never be powerful enough to defeat Palpatine.
Count Dooku Truly Wanted To Overthrow Palpatine With Obi-Wan
Dooku expressed sadness at this fact in Attack of the Clones, which is understandable, given both of their fondness for the late Qui-Gon Jinn.
Anakin regrets this decision, and Palpatine reasons with him saying that Dooku was too dangerous.

Palpatine knew that the only way for Anakin to defeat Dooku was by tapping into the dark side of the Force. If Anakin did this he would surpass Dooku and carry out the rule of two, also Dooku was much older than his master Palpatine and didn't have the potential to defeat him and become the Sith master but Anankin did.
Bottom line, Dooku never considered himself a Sith. And he wasn't; he was a man looking to change the galaxy in a way the Jedi were unwilling to try. And that is why he joined the Sith and became Darth Sidious' apprentice, Darth Tyrannus. When Dooku became Sidious's apprentice, he was already an elderly man.
Dooku's skill was maybe only second or third, behind Yoda or Sidious, at some point, and though Dooku held the potential to be one of the most powerful and near-unbeatable duelist period, and was indeed able to reach this level of skill, he still couldn't surpass nor equal Yoda in lightsaber combat.
The reason Dooku joined the Separatists, he said, was that he learned a terrible truth: a Sith Lord called Darth Sidious controlled the Senate. With Obi-Wan at his side, they could destroy the Sith.
Anakin and Obi-Wan board Grievous' ship, the Invisible Hand, and confront Dooku, who knocks Obi-Wan unconscious, leaving Anakin to face the Sith Lord alone. Anakin gives in to his hatred of Dooku and uses his anger to overpower him, severing both of Dooku's hands and leaving him helpless.
Also, Windu spoke with Yoda and Kenobi in the Jedi High Council chamber, and he learned from Kenobi that while he was Dooku's prisoner he learned hundreds of senators were under the influence of Sith Lord, Darth Sidious.
In the novel, Dooku remains silent when Sidious tells Anakin to kill him, because he finally realised, that he had been replaced. His master has found a new apprentice, younger, filled with more rawness and power to destroy the Jedi.
Why did Palpatine order Anakin to kill Count Dooku? Palpatine ordered Anakin to kill Count Dooku because all along, this was the moment he had been waiting for. He wanted to eliminate Dooku and take in his new apprentice—aka Darth Vader. The first step was seeing if Anakin (future Vader) would be worthy enough.
Regardless, Dooku's eyes weren't yellow because he wasn't motivated by anger. He was merely a practical dark side user, so he does not have the usual Sith eye color.
Another contender for the weakest Sith could be Count Dooku, or has he's also known Darth Tyranus. Dooku was a cunning and talented Sith Lord, known for his swift skills with a lightsaber and his ability to manipulate populations.
Darth Maul
Even though they were both trained by Palpatine, Dooku and his predecessor, Maul have been enemies every since his mind was restored by Mother Talzin. This is because the two hated each other. Dooku despises Maul for being a threat to him and Maul hated Dooku for being his replacement.
Studying Jedi Archive records, Dooku based his new weapon design after the curved hilts that were standard during the heyday of Form II lightsaber combat. The curve allowed the hilt to fit better into his hand, allowing for superior finesse and precise blade control.
As a master of precision and speed, Dooku can easily target one of the many weaknesses of Ataru. A style based on speed and acrobatics is useless against a fast and precise opponent. And, if Obi-Wan is focused on not losing the lightsaber duel, he is open to force attacks. Thus Dooku easily defeats Obi-Wan.
This is confirmed later in the movie when Obi-Wan informs Padme that Anakin killed them. Both are torn apart with hurt and confusion, trying to make sense of something so terrible.
The canonical comic Star Wars: Darth Vader #7 confirms the younglings' deaths caused Anakin grief, self-loathing, hatred and pain, fueling his descent even further into the dark side.
Jedi Master Yoda is the most powerful of them all. This should come as no surprise, as he was the head of the Jedi Order in the prequels and was revered for his abilities during the original trilogy. Yoda's power is unmatched and was a real threat to Darth Vader and the Imperials.
As powerful as Darth Sidious may have been, it's easy to forget he actually seemed afraid of Master Yoda. As seen in Revenge of the Sith, Palpatine initially thought he could deal with the aged Jedi Master - and then, when Yoda proved able to counter the Sith Lord's Force lightning, he fled.
If Qui-Gon had survived his fight against Darth Maul, he would have sensed Palpatine's evil, and Anakin wouldn't have become Darth Vader. Thus, while Qui-Gon was less powerful than Yoda, Palpatine feared him more.
