Apollo, the Greek god of music, light, and prophecy, gets angry for various reasons across different myths, often related to:
Why is Apollo angry in the Iliad? Apollo is angry because Chryseis, the daughter of one of his priests, has been kidnapped. Agamemnon takes Chryseis as a war prize and Apollo is so furious that he sends a plague against the Achaeans.
When the raven brought news to Apollo of his lover's infidelity, he became enraged that his faithful messenger had not pecked out the eyes of the prince. Apollo flung a curse so furious, the raven's pure white feathers were scorched black.
Zeus agreed, but when Apollon was then able to provoke the wonder of all mankind, he began to think that he was better than all the other gods and he treated them with even greater arrogance than before. This angered Zeus (and he was Apollon's superior, after all).
As for Troilus, Achilles killed him brutally inside the temple of Apollo (where Troilus was trying to hide from him). Akhilleus plunged a sword into his [Tenes] chest and killed him, even though Thetis warned him not to. For he himself would be slain by Apollon, if they should slay Tenes.
Apollo is the model of Greek male excellence in physical, intellectual and ethical terms. This model of masculine perfection was compatible with a sexuality beyond the limits of heterosexuality. Apollo, like other gods such as Zeus, had both male and female lovers in myth.
According to this classical tale, Hyacinthus died as a result of his own clumsiness when he threw a discus during a competition, wounding himself mortally in the head. Another version of the tale has it that it was Apollo who threw the discus, accidentally killing the youth as it rebounded off the ground or a rock.
In one of the great parables of hubris, the satyr Marsyas challenged the god Apollo to a musical competition. The god triumphed and then punished his challenger by skinning him alive.
Ganymede in Greek Mythology: Zeus' Young Lover & Cupbearer. Ganymede, a beautiful Trojan young man, was aducted by Zeus to serve as his personal cupbearer and lover on mount Olympus among the other gods.
After the battle, Zeus punishes Apollo for encouraging Octavian to follow his dangerous path but also for revealing the prophecy much too soon.
He was in general seen as the god who affords help and wards off evil, and is referred to as Alexicacus, the "averter of evil". Medicine and healing are associated with Apollo, whether through the god himself or mediated through his son Asclepius.
There is also the mention of a white raven in Ovid's Coronis and the Birth of Esculapius – in this story a white raven brought Apollo bad news and in Apollo's anger the bird's feathers were turned black. There is so much more to the raven than omens of bad luck.
Erebus, the God of Darkness and Shadows
Greek myths also refer to this god as Erebos. The Greeks primarily worshipped the Olympian gods, such as Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon. These gods were said to have taken control of the universe by overthrowing their father, Cronus, and his Titan brothers.

According to some legends, it was the love god Eros (Cupid) who caused Apollo to fall in love with Daphne but mischievously caused her to be filled with loathing for Apollo. Apollo pursued Daphne and she fled. Just as he was about to grasp her, she called to her father (or to the Earth, Gaea) for help.
One day Apollo saw Coronis and became enamoured of her. He lay with her in her home, and consequently she became pregnant. One time when Apollo was away performing his godly duties, Coronis fell in love with Ischys, son of Elatus. Going against her father's warnings, she slept with him in secret.
Socrates says that Zeus was in love with Ganymede, called "desire" in Plato's Phaedrus; but in Xenophon's Symposium, Socrates argues Zeus loved him for his mind and their relationship was not sexual.
In one Orphic myth, Zeus was filled with desire for his mother and pursued her, only for Rhea to refuse him and change into a serpent to flee. Zeus also turned himself into a serpent and raped her. The child born from that union was their daughter Persephone, and afterwards Rhea became Demeter.
Homosexuality and bisexuality
Apollo, the god of sun and music, is considered the patron of same sex love, as he had many male lovers and was often invoked to bless homosexual unions. He is also called "the champion of male love" by Andrew Callimach.
Artemis was known for her modesty. A young man named Sipriotes saw her bathing. Because of this intrusion, Artemis turned him into a girl.
One of the myths about Apollo and his music involves Marsyas, a satyr, who challenges Apollo to a music contest. Apollo won and had the satyr flayed alive for his arrogance. The myth shows Apollo punishing Marsyas for hubris, but also represents the dilemma between the controlled and the uncontrolled.
In Greek mythology, the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice (Greek: Ὀρφεύς, Εὐρυδίκη, romanized: Orpheus, Eurydikē) concerns the pitiful love of Orpheus of Thrace, located in northeastern Greece, for the beautiful Eurydice.
Apollo turned Hyacinthus' soul into hyacinth flowers so that he could live on after death. He did not want Hades, god of the Underworld, to claim Hyacinth's soul.
Apollo wept for Hyacinthus' death and expressed his wish to become a mortal to join the Spartan boy in his death. That being unachievable because of his immortality, Apollo promised that he would always remind himself of Hyacinthus through his songs and the music of his lyre.
