Cordelia had been taken over by the dark entity Jasmine (Gina Torres), which got pregnant so it could give birth to itself.
In her final hours, Cordelia curiously became the pseudo-villain of the series after being possessed by the malevolent entity Jasmine. Instead of getting the kind of epic, valiant sendoff that other villains-turned-scoobies did for their finales, Cordelia simply fell into a coma and died unceremoniously in a hospital.
In the fourth season of Angel, she appears to take on a villainous role before it is revealed that she is possessed by a malevolent deity; this storyline eventually leads to her death and subsequent exit from the series.
Later, in Angel's perfect-day dream sequence, Angel and Cordelia consummated their relationship, but Angel called out "Buffy!" as he lost his soul, just as he did in Sunnydale years earlier.
In total, Cordelia is the victim of mystical pregnancy three times during the series: from a Haxil beast in this episode, as host of an unborn Skilosh demon in "Epiphany," and from Connor while possessed by Jasmine, as first revealed in "Salvage."
He loved her differently, as others said. Buffy was more primal, passionate and intense, like every episode was Waiting in the Wings. But it also wasn't super healthy. Angel and Cordelia was a more mature love built on friendship and respect.
Cordelia sacrificed herself so that Mallory could rise as Supreme, going back in time and killing Michael before he could come into his own as the ender of days. But unbeknownst to the witches, another Antichrist was born to take his place—to Timothy and Emily, the lovers seen in Outpost 3.
Unable to let her friend suffer, and realizing that fighting evil was her true calling, Cordelia had Skip return the timeline to normal, and accepted his offer to become a half-demon.
Cordelia becomes part-demon. Her transformation, and the motivations behind it, play an important part in the events of season four. Cordelia learns that her receiving the visions wasn't part of the Powers That Be's plans.
Angel roughs up the demon guide Skip to find out why Cordelia has turned evil. Skip tells them a higher being has manipulated events over the past few years to cause itself to be reborn. Meanwhile, Cordelia convinces Connor to mystically expedite the birth using the blood of a virgin.
In Angel season 4 Cordelia is possessed by the ancient demon Jasmine, who slept with Connor in order to give birth to herself. After Cordelia gave birth to Jasmine, she was put in a coma and only returned in Angel season 5, episode 12, "You're Welcome" wherein she died as a result of the coma.
When an all-powerful demon lord The Beast rises from the ground at the place he was born, Connor feels responsible. As The Beast causes fire to rain from the sky in an apparent apocalypse, Cordelia sleeps with Connor to give him some happiness before the end.
Connor was the half-demon son of the vampires Angel and Darla and a member of Angel Investigations. Connor was conceived when his father, Angel, slept with Darla while going through a dark phase.
Connor blames himself for the whole situation, but Cordelia comforts and reassures him that he's not to blame. Cordelia kisses Connor and offers him the chance to feel something real. While everyone else watches the fire, fearing the future that awaits them, Connor and Cordelia have sex.
Amid the celebration, star Charisma Carpenter spoke out on the controversial end of her fan-favorite character, Cordelia Chase, who was written out at the end of Season 4.
The two kiss, and Angel initially hesitates, only for Cordelia to tell him not to worry. Angel succumbs and the two are soon making love, and Angel starts to feel perfect bliss causing him to gasp out, "Buffy," as he begins to lose his soul.
They are attacked by a Mohra demon; when Angel kills the demon he is restored to life by its powerful blood. After The Oracles — a link to The Powers That Be — confirm he is human again, Angel and Buffy spend a blissful night together.
I got much longer hair and I started to have repercussions from that. It was too much for my scalp and it was just creating a lot of ickiness and hardship and was not the right thing to do. So I begged, half way into season two, for them to let me cut my hair.
Burgundy rejects Cordelia when he discovers that she will bring him no dowry or inheritance. Burgundy, who cannot love Cordelia without her wealth, is guilty of selfish motivations.
Furious, Lear disowns her, which means Burgundy no longer wants to marry her. Luckily, the King of France likes girls with principles, so he says he will take her off to France as his bride. 4.4 Cordelia shows up in Britain with a bunch of soldiers she borrowed from her husband, the King of France.
King Lear ends with a battle for the British throne. Edmund wins the battle for the throne, but is then killed by his brother Edgar. As Edmund dies, he admits that he has sent orders for Lear and Cordelia to be executed. The orders are reversed, but too late; Cordelia has already been killed.
In November, the activist chimed in on the great debate over whether Angel or Spike was the “right” man for Buffy. To be fair, Angel was the right boyfriend for Buffy coming into her power. Spike was the right man to be with as she became the power.
They will never stop caring for each other, but affection does not necessarily mean that they work well together. Angel isn't just Buffy's first love, he's treated as her soulmate.
Angel had mourned for Buffy. He had been upset and shocked to his core...but it didn't destroy him. It didn't end his world like it would have a couple of years ago. This realisation disturbs Angel more than anything else.
