In Norse mythology,
Jormungand was one of three monstrous offspring of the giantess Angerbotha and the trickster fire god Loki. Jormungand's brother was the giant wolf Fenrir, whom the gods had to leash, and its sister was the goddess Hel, queen of the underworld.
It also confirms that Fenrir, Hel, and the world serpent are siblings, and most importantly it confirms that Loki - AKA Atreus - is their father.
In Norse myth, the World Serpent is the son of Loki. In the game, Atreus was meant to be named Loki, but Kratos chose his given name. The fact that the World Serpent recognizes Atreus on their journey lends credence to this possibility.
In the original Mythology, Loki is the father of the World Serpent.
Nehebkau is the “original snake” of Egyptian mythology, and was believed to be both an ancient and eternal god. Although he is occasionally represented as a son of Serket, Renenutet or Geb, he is sometimes believed to have simply "emerged from the earth".
Thor (from Old Norse: Þórr) is a prominent god in Germanic paganism. In Norse mythology, he is a hammer-wielding god associated with lightning, thunder, storms, sacred groves and trees, strength, the protection of humankind, hallowing, and fertility.
Personality. Jörmungandr harbors a strong hatred towards the Aesir gods, principally Thor and Odin, for massacring the giants to near extinction. He hates Thor the most (and vice-versa), and both are destined to slay each other during Ragnarök.
In the form of a mare, Loki was impregnated by the stallion Svaðilfari and gave birth to the eight-legged horse Sleipnir.
Jörmungandr is the Midgard Serpent (also World Serpent) in Norse mythology who encircles the realm of Midgard. He is the son of the god Loki and the giantess Angrboða and brother of the great wolf Fenrir and Hel, Queen of the Dead. At Ragnarök, the Twilight of the Gods, he slays and is slain by the god Thor.
With the female giant Angerboda (Angrboda: “Distress Bringer”), Loki produced the progeny Hel, the goddess of death; Jörmungand, the serpent that surrounds the world; and Fenrir (Fenrisúlfr), the wolf.
Atreus (Greek: Ἀτρεύς), also known as Loki (Nordic: ᛚᛟᚲᛁ), is the Norse God of Mischief and the Champion of the Jötnar. He is the deuteragonist of God of War (2018) and one of the two protagonists of God of War: Ragnarök along with Kratos.
The Serpent is a part of the giant race as well, and it may recognize Atreus because the young god was a part of its future. Or it could be that they are related. In Norse Mythology, Loki is Jörmungandr's father.
According to the Gylfaginning section of Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, he was also called Nari and was killed by his brother Váli, who was transformed into a wolf; in a prose passage at the end of the Eddic poem "Lokasenna", Narfi became a wolf and his brother Nari was killed.
According to the myths, the evil Loki himself gave birth to Fenrir, after eating the heart of a giantess, the witch Angerbotha. After his birth, the gods received prophecies of disaster concerning Fenrir and his siblings.

This was Vali Halfling, the illegitimate son of Loki, who was born to a mortal mother. He has similar magical abilities as his father but on a much smaller level. Instead, he spent most of his years fathering children on Earth and then putting together an organization known as the Pantheon.

Greek God Equivalent of Thor
Because Thor is a Norse god, he is not considered a god in Greek mythology; however, like most mythology, there is a Greek equivalent to Roman, Norse, and g. Therefore, if you wanted to look at Thor as a Greek god, you would look at the Greek god, Zeus.
Sif is attested in the Poetic Edda, compiled in the 13th century from earlier traditional sources, and the Prose Edda, written in the 13th century by Snorri Sturluson, and in the poetry of skalds. In both the Poetic Edda and the Prose Edda, she is known for her golden hair and is married to the thunder god Thor.
Zeus is the secondary antagonist of the 2022 Marvel Cinematic Universe film Thor: Love and Thunder. He is the Greek God of the Sky and the head of the Council of Godheads in Omnipotence City, and the former idol of Thor Odinson.
