Diamonds rain on the ice giant planets Uranus and Neptune, where extreme pressures and temperatures deep in their atmospheres crush carbon from methane into solid diamond crystals that fall like hail towards their cores, potentially forming oceans of liquid diamond. Scientists believe this process also happens on Jupiter and Saturn, creating immense diamond precipitation.
Deep within Neptune and Uranus, it rains diamonds—or so astronomers and physicists have suspected for nearly 40 years. The outer planets of our Solar System are hard to study, however. Only a single space mission, Voyager 2, has flown by to reveal some of their secrets, so diamond rain has remained only a hypothesis.
While no planet in our solar system is entirely made of gold, the asteroid 16 Psyche is believed to contain an astonishing amount of gold and other precious metals. Located between Mars and Jupiter, this metallic giant could be worth trillions—yes, trillions! —of dollars.

Its thick atmosphere is laden with clouds of sulfuric acid, a highly corrosive compound. If it were to rain on Venus, it wouldn't be the life-sustaining water we're used to. Instead, it would be sulfuric acid rain, a deadly downpour that evaporates before reaching the surface due to Venus' extreme surface temperatures.
One possible phenomenon is particularly dazzling: deep within Neptune and Uranus, it may rain diamonds. Supported by laboratory simulations, researchers have developed models of the planets' atmospheres to explore what may be causing this unusual weather in their centers deep beneath their hazy shields.

Jupiter – The Billionaire Tycoon
Jupiter would easily be the richest, not just because of its massive size but because it literally hoards everything. The planet is a gas giant, has the most moons, and pulls in asteroids like an overzealous landlord collecting rent.
While there aren't tons of gold nuggets just floating freely in space, there is valuable metal locked inside some asteroids. For example, one 10-meter stony (S-type) asteroid could contain up to 650,000 kilograms of iron, nickel, and other metals, including roughly 50 kilograms of gold, platinum, and rhodium.

But somewhere in the vastness of space, there exists a planet made almost entirely of diamonds. Discovered by astronomers in 2004, this exoplanet, officially named 55 Cancri e aka —is about twice the size of Earth and orbits a star 40 light-years away in the constellation Cancer.
But it's not the rain that we see here because these pressures are extreme, and you'll never be able to get there as a human. So even if these diamonds do exist, we would never be able to go and grab them.
In our solar system, Mercury and Venus are the only two planets that do not have any moons, primarily because they are so close to the Sun that its intense gravity makes it difficult for any potential moon to maintain a stable orbit. Mercury's small size and proximity, combined with Venus's slow, retrograde rotation, mean neither planet can hold onto natural satellites.
