After about six months, the swelling will improve. The tip will soften a bit and will be less full, but you will still find it a bit swollen. By a year, the tip should be soft and look great. However, some patients require even longer for all the swelling to go away.

The hardness does not actually reflect a change in the skin, but rather the tissue underneath. Edema (swelling caused by liquid under the skin) is the most common cause of hardness in the months directly following surgery.

As the swollen columella heals, which can take a few months, the lip will return to a normal position. Sometime if extensive work is done in this area, the muscles responsible for pulling the uppper lip up are temporarily weakened, a condition which will also return to normal over months.
I recommend sleeping on your back after your rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty. During your recovery, your nose will be delicate and malleable, so it is important not to sleep on your stomach or side, which can put pressure on your nose. This will not only cause discomfort but may also compromise your results.

Smiling and laughing 2 weeks after a Rhinoplasty should not have any impact on the final result.
