During his sixth year, Harry discovers that he finds Ginny to be a source of constant hilarity. When he is sixteen, Harry develops feelings for Ginny, but it is not her physical attributes that he spends the bulk of his time thinking about; rather, it is her humour.
In the Harry Potter novels, Ginny is shown to have a hero-worship crush on Harry. Over time, her crush on The Boy Who Lived is meant to transform into feelings for Harry as a person. Ginny had taken a step back from her crush on Harry and grown into herself as a person.

Harry's crush on Ginny and their subsequent relationship in the last two (but particularly the sixth) book led to some of my all time favorite moments in the whole series.
When Harry and Ginny kiss in the Deathly Hallows,Ron acting as a concerned brother argued with Harry about his sister. He told him that by kissing her,he could give her false hope that he will be with her and will not leave her , which is also would not happen because of their dangerous journey ahead.
Ginny was the untainted part of Harry's life. Harry probably wasn't comfortable inviting her in darker part of his life. He wanted to keep, at least, one relationship of his life absolutely free of Voldemort's influence. Harry had always wanted to keep Ginny away & protected from Voldemort-related part of his life.

The youngest Weasley child and only daughter wasn't just Harry Potter's love interest, she was an extremely capable witch who arguably had more power than her famous partner.
Tom Riddle took Ginny in order to lure Harry into the Chamber so that he could kill him. He specifically says at one point that " killing mudbloods doesn't interest [him] anymore" and that getting Harry has been his real purpose for a while.
