You know Allah might have forgiven you through signs like deep remorse for sins, a transformed life with increased good deeds (prayer, charity, piety), feeling peace and contentment, hating the sin, and continuously seeking forgiveness while fearing Allah's displeasure, rather than presumption; true forgiveness involves a genuine change of heart and actions, not just words.
If you keep repeating your mistakes it means you are not forgiven but if you stop and have no desire to do that wrong thing again you can consider that Allah has accepted your repentance”. This demonstrates the fact that the true essence of repentance lies in never repeating the action again.
Avoiding Resentment
“The real sign of forgiveness is that you don't seek to punish the other — you seek the good of the other.” On this analogy, there can be both physical and emotional pain that lingers after the act of forgiveness. This pain in and of itself is not necessarily sinful.
Seeking forgiveness from from Allah involves sincerely acknowledging your mistake and feeling genuine remorse. Turn to Him with humility, ask for forgiveness through prayer and supplication, and resolve not to repeat the sin(s).
People sometimes wonder if they have “done enough” to be forgiven of sins. Although it does take effort to repent, ultimately we aren't forgiven because we complete a checklist or do certain tasks. We are forgiven as we accept the mercy offered by Jesus Christ. It is in this way that our natures can be changed.
With this declaration, Alma identified for Corianton the three most abominable sins in the sight of God: (1) denying the Holy Ghost, (2) shedding innocent blood, and (3) committing sexual sin. Adultery was third to murder and the sin against the Holy Ghost as abominable sins.
If it's a punishment, you will stray away from Deen and do things that displease Allah. If it's a test to raise your status, you will leave the dunya and fall in SAJOOD🏵🏵 If it feels completely unbearable and you think it is actually punishment, than it is truly a punishment.
To get your dua (supplication) accepted, focus on sincerity, perfect your etiquette (praise Allah, send blessings on the Prophet), have firm yaqeen (certainty) in His response, perform good deeds (like charity), repent for sins, and make dua at key times (like after prayers or during hardship) with humility and focus, understanding Allah responds in the best way, even if not instantly as you expect.
A Repentant Person Will Work to Change Their Behavior.
A truly repentant person will realize they need God to sanctify their heart. They'll proactively work to change their behavior and take steps to avoid sin and temptation. Consider the stark contrast between the church persecutor Saul before salvation and after.
Seeking forgiveness is usually done by saying “Astaghfirullah” or the longer version “Astaghfirullāha rabbī wa-atūbu ilayhi)”. As a beloved Sunnah, the Prophet (PBUH) would say 'Astaghfirullah' more than 100 times daily, and this simple but powerful du'a is one of the best du'as for forgiveness.
Forgiveness has four stages: hate, hurt, heal, come together. (This model was inspired by Louis Smedes' book, “Forgive and Forget.” I've reordered Smedes' words, and I've changed my understanding of what each phase of the process means.)
If you are struggling with unforgiveness, you may experience bursts of anger, become petty and impulsive, feel the need to make the person understand your pain, engage in compulsive behavior, be unable to reframe your experiences, and blame others for your feelings.
Additionally, we can live out the Golden Rule by forgiving others as we would like to be forgiven. This means letting go of grudges and resentment, extending a hand of reconciliation, and seeking restoration in relationships.
"All the sins of my followers will be forgiven except those of the Mujahirin (those who commit a sin openly or disclose their sins to the people).
Signs of the Day of Judgment: Past, Present & Future
In fact, something as simple as removing a harmful object from the path is a source of divine forgiveness. The Prophet (sa) said: “While a man was on the way, he found a thorny branch of a tree there on the way and removed it. Allah (swt) thanked him for that deed and forgave him.” (Bukhari).
If you put your faith in Jesus you can be “100%” sure you are of going to heaven someday, not because you said a prayer, but because you put your faith in Jesus! Now share that good news with everyone you can!
False repentance is often characterized by a resentment for authority and a confidence in one's own abilities to live a holy life. Sadly, this is often self-deception, and the real reason that the falsely repentant rejects accountability is because they don't yet want to abandon their sinful habit.
The difference between ☦ (Orthodox Cross) and ✝ (Latin Cross) lies in their bars: the Orthodox cross has three bars (a small top one for the inscription, the main one, and a slanted bottom one for the footrest), symbolizing Eastern Orthodoxy, while the Latin cross has one bar, representing Western Christianity's focus on Jesus' sacrifice and resurrection, with both symbols generally signifying faith, Christianity, or support, but specific denominations prefer their distinct form.
Forbidden prayer times
As mentioned, Muslims are banned from praying during 3 main times: sunrise, sunset, and Zawwal. The prostration of recitation (sajda al tilawa) is permissible to be offered during these times though it is disliked (tanzihan).
Indeed, uncontrollable tears is a sign that your dua is being accepted by Allah. Few days back , I shared a reel where a sheikh mentioned six basic signs that your dua is being accepted.
Repeating Astaghfirullah 1000 times a day is a habit that every Muslim can build. It's simple, easy, and life-changing.
In Islam, the raised index finger (al-musabbiḥa) symbolizes the core concept of Tawhid, the indivisible oneness of God (Allah) and the declaration of faith (Shahada), affirming there is no god but God. Muslims use this gesture during prayer (Salah) and sometimes when saying the declaration of faith, pointing to the singular nature of God, signifying faith, unity, and praise.
Pride: Pride is considered to be the greatest of all sins. Pride can be directed against God, the prophets, or against other people.
