Romans 10:11 means that anyone who puts their faith in Jesus Christ will not be disappointed, let down, or put to shame by God, but will find vindication and salvation because Christ is a sure foundation, a promise rooted in Old Testament prophecy (Isaiah 28:16) and applied universally to both Jews and Gentiles who call on Him.
He explains that salvation is available to all who believe in Jesus Christ, regardless of their background. This chapter highlights the simplicity of the gospel message—that if one confesses Jesus as Lord and believes in their heart that God raised Him from the dead, they will be saved.
In Mark 2:27, "the Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath" means the Sabbath is a divine gift for human benefit—a day of rest, spiritual rejuvenation, and connecting with God—rather than a rigid set of rules that oppresses people, emphasizing mercy and human need over legalistic observance. Jesus used this to teach that religious rules, including Sabbath laws, should serve humanity's well-being (doing good, saving life) and not become a burden, highlighting that the Son of Man (Jesus) is Lord over the Sabbath.
Nevertheless, she persisted and replied, “Yes Lord, but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their master's table.” Bam! she gives it back as good as she got from him. She is not asking Jesus for a whole loaf, just for some leftover crumbs to her sick daughter.
When Jesus asked, "Can you drink the cup I will drink?" he was asking his disciples, James and John, if they could share in his coming suffering, persecution, and death, symbolized by the "cup" as God's wrath and judgment for sin, which he was taking upon himself, leading to his crucifixion, while they would face lesser, but still significant, persecution as followers, all to fulfill God's plan.
The Bible never gives detailed instructions about drinking. It does, however, give principles every Christian should consider. Bottom line: Scripture prohibits drunkenness, not drinking. If a Christian chooses to consume alcohol, they should do so with moderation and self-control.
A cup is often mentioned in the Word, and by it in the genuine sense is signified spiritual truth, that is, the truth of faith which is from the good of charity the same as by wine; and in the opposite sense is signified the falsity by which comes evil, and also falsity from evil.
Ultimately, dogs symbolize much more than mere pets within scripture—they represent lessons learned from fidelity amid trials along life's path alongside reminders about kindness toward every creature under heaven.
So, where was Jesus for the three days in between His death and resurrection? For a time, He was in Hades, preaching to the spirits in prison (whoever they were). Then, He released all of the righteous dead of Sheol/Hades and took them with Him to heaven. But, again, there is controversy on virtually every point.

On the Sabbath (Shabbat), observant Jews traditionally refrain from "work" (melacha), which includes activities like driving or using electricity, cooking or kindling fires, writing or erasing, shopping or conducting business, and doing household chores like laundry or cleaning; these prohibitions stem from the 39 creative labors involved in building the Tabernacle, aiming to create a day of rest and spiritual focus, not a normal weekday.
He gives this law its authentic and authoritative interpretation: “The sabbath was made for man, not man for the sabbath.” With compassion, Christ declares the sabbath for doing good rather than harm, for saving life rather than killing. The sabbath is the day of the Lord of mercies and a day to honor God.
The Sabbath was the sign of the Mosaic covenant. The Mosaic covenant and the Sabbath as the covenant sign are no longer applicable now that the new covenant of Jesus Christ has come. Believers are called upon to honor and respect those who think the Sabbath is still mandatory for believers.
As he has done in the previous chapter (Romans 9:33), Paul quotes from Isaiah 28:16. Once again, he translates the verse to read that whomever believes in "Him" will not be put to shame. By Him, Paul means that Christ is the precious cornerstone God has laid in Zion.
The spirit of the living beings was in the wheels. So wherever the spirit went, the wheels and the living beings also went“ (Ezekiel 1:5,6,10,12,15,16,18-20 NLT). Bible scholars believe the wheels display the omnipotence and omnipresence of God.
In Jeremiah 10:1-4 the verses basically say not to cut down trees and decorate them as the heathens did to sum it up. So why is this such a common practice among Christians, when they shouldn't even be celebrating Christmas in the first place?
God, by definition, transcends the rules of time and space, existing outside the framework of creation. This means He doesn't need a beginning because He exists in a reality beyond our own.
The Jubilee of 2033
The year 2033 will be of exceptional significance for the Christian community and the entire world. This extraordinary year will mark the 2000th anniversary of the Redemption, an event that highlights the passion, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the foundation of Christian faith.
God made dogs for us to have as companions and helpers, and for the immeasurable pleasure and happiness they give us. Perhaps it's a stretch to think that dogs were also meant to teach us about God's love. With all that dogs mean to us, is that too much to consider?
Throughout the Bible, dogs are considered unclean and unholy animals. As such, 'dog' was a term used by the Jews to refer to the Gentiles during the first century. They can be very nice, intelligent and helpful animals.
In Christianity, the Bible often uses dogs as a symbolic embodiment of impurity, sin, and moral waywardness.
Jesus drank the cup of the wine of God's wrath due sinners. Because of Christ's work on the cross we are called the righteousness of God in Him.
In the first book of the Old Testament, Genesis 44, a silver cup is considered a symbol of truth and intelligence, while gold is often associated with love.
Let God Fill Your Empty Places
In my opinion, being filled means having a sense of joy and peace in our lives. Not the fake kind of happiness that overflows from a cup of glitter and makes people want to cringe. But a genuine sincerity that says, I have Christ and through Him all things are possible.
