A "God kiss" is a spiritual metaphor for profound intimacy, divine affection, or a direct touch from God, often described in religious traditions as an overwhelming experience of love, presence, or empowerment, distinct from physical touch, representing a deep connection through the Spirit or Word. It can manifest as the Holy Spirit's breath, tender communion in prayer, or the blessing of sacred Scripture, signifying God's deep love and invitation into a deeper relationship, sometimes linked to the biblical "holy kiss" greeting.
God is love, yet He has many ways to express His love to and for us. Kiss means figuratively, to touch. The way He cares for us and touches us, helps us, heal us, holds us, provides for us- it is all an expression of Who He is- Love. As we worship Jesus, we will feel the kiss of His presence.
For the early Christians, the holy kiss "was associated with the peace and unity given by the Holy Spirit to the congregation."
I was surprised and blessed yet again. God loves to give us “kisses.” What does it mean to be “kissed” by God? That is what I call it when He blesses me with a small desire fulfilled, with something I don't even need and certainly don't deserve.
Marked by Love and Compassion
A life marked by God should reflect His love for others. John 13:35 – “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” Being marked by God means displaying His love, grace, and kindness in your relationships, even when it's difficult.
God warns us through the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit. He will bring an inner check that something isn't right, you experience an uneasiness, an unsettledness that you can't shake. Everything may look fine to your natural eyes, but God sees what you don't see!
While angels may not be visible to us in a physical form, many people believe that they are around us, watching over us and sending us signs of their presence. These signs can come in many forms, such as feathers, a sense of peace or reassurance, a comforting presence, or even a feeling of warmth or lightness.
We tend to think of the kiss in purely physical terms: a meeting of lips. For ancient Christian tradition, the kiss is a conspiratio, a breathing together, a sharing of spirits – a pouring into one another of the lovers' love. So, in the Holy Spirit the love of the Father and the Son is another Person.
Stork bites (nevus simplex) are birthmarks made up of clusters of enlarged blood vessels. They cause areas of pink, red or purplish skin, most commonly on a baby's forehead, eyelids and the back of their neck and head. They're very common in newborns. They're also called salmon patches or angel kisses.
Given the fact that God affirms childlikeness, it's not that surprising that people who are touched by the power of God sometimes act in a child-like way. We have seen people filled with the joy of the Holy Spirit laugh, roll around on the floor, and run about just like children.
In other words, “kiss with the expression of brotherly love.” Peter said, “Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity” (1 Pet 5:14). If my heart is washed by the blood and your heart is washed by the blood, then we both have love toward Jesus and toward each other—Jesus is our common bond.
If kissing before marriage stimulates lust or leads to sexual immorality, it is a sin and should be avoided between couples that are not married.
A French kiss, also known as cataglottism or a tongue kiss, is an amorous kiss in which the participants' tongues extend to touch each other's lips or tongue. A kiss with the tongue stimulates the partner's lips, tongue and mouth, which are sensitive to the touch and induce sexual arousal.
In other cultural contexts, especially South America, it is a 'holy hug' that is the acceptable form of greeting. In Europe it is a kiss on both cheeks, and for family members three alternating cheek kisses are common.
The Divine kiss is a metaphor for intimacy with God. a. We are to think of God's hand touching our heart by the Holy Spirit to expand our capacity to receive His love and to give ourselves back to Him in love. i. It speaks of God's invitation to go deep with Jesus.
Things You Should Know
Angel kiss birthmarks are believed to be kisses from an angel. They can mean your baby is blessed, connected to a past life, or spiritually protected. Stork bites are similar to angel kiss birthmarks except they appear on the back of a newborn's neck and can remain into adulthood.
While "rarest" is hard to pinpoint, port-wine stains, though fairly common (about 3 in 1,000 babies), are considered rare compared to other birthmarks like hemangiomas, and when they're extensive or affect the face, they can signal rare syndromes like Sturge-Weber or Klippel-Trenaunay (KT) syndrome, making those specific presentations very rare. Other extremely rare scenarios involve unique genetic conditions like human chimerism, where someone has two sets of DNA, sometimes showing up as unusual skin patterns (like Blaschko's lines) or different colored eyes, making it a very rare underlying cause for birthmark-like features.
These birthmarks are commonly called "angel kisses" when found on the forehead, eyelids, nose or upper lip and "stork bites" when on the back of the neck. Angel kisses almost always go away by age two, but stork bites usually persist into adult.
Ethical Practices: D
Angel Kiss receives a 'D' due to its complete lack of supply chain transparency. With no supplier disclosures, third-party audits, or fair labor certifications, there is no way to verify that workers are treated or paid fairly.
"Devouring or being devoured by your lover can be a most intimate act," says Jaiya, describing this type of kissing as teeth sinking into the nape of a neck, pulling gently on a lover's swollen lip, or capturing their tongue with a nibble.
When you kiss someone you care about, dopamine is released in the brain, stimulating the same area associated with pleasure and reward. This same region is activated by stimulants like heroin and cocaine, which explains why some describe love, and even that sense of “spark,” as feeling a bit like a drug!
When you kiss someone, you're emotionally or physically connected to your body. It releases many powerful hormones like oxytocin, dopamine, and serotonin. These feel-good chemicals help deepen emotional bonds, relieve stress, and even improve mental health.
