On the day she was to take her holy orders, Angelus massacred the convent. DAfter having sex with Darla on top of Drusilla, Angelus finally pushed her over the edge into complete insanity. It was at that point that he turned her into a vampire.
It isn't until the episode "Angel" that the character is revealed to be a benevolent vampire from Galway, Ireland, who emigrated to the United States to escape his past as the sadistic Angelus after his soul was restored by a vengeful Romani clan.
Their sirings are all shown in flashbacks: Angel was turned in 1753, Spike in 1880, Drusilla in 1860, and Darla in 1609.
Darla's backstory is disclosed in the episode "Angel", where it is revealed that she is Angel's sire (the one who turned him into a vampire) and former longtime lover. The character appears in numerous flashback episodes, until she receives a significantly expanded role in Angel.
Angel kills the demon. Its blood, eventually found to be the Blood of Eternity, merges with his own, and he becomes human. Realizing what this means for their relationship, Angel spends the night with Buffy.
Angelus terrorizes Willow and the Gang at school, emotionally tormenting Buffy. Later, as they discuss Angel's transformation in the library, Buffy realises that having sex with Angel is what caused him to turn evil. Buffy has a dream in which Angel indicates that Jenny knows more than she is letting on.
Angel is the title character on the show. He's a vampire with a soul who was originally born in Galway, Ireland in 1727 and became a vampire in 1753 as the age of 26.
Kakistos was an old vampire whose hands and feet had turned cloven. Its Greek name meant "the worst." After killing Faith's first Watcher, Kakistos sought the Slayer in Sunnydale to avenge the scarring she left on him.
Elena was half human, half angel. Her mother was an angel who defected and came to live on Earth. Elena was going to be recruited by the angels and taken to The Celestial Court when she was a teenager, but when she saw the angels, she distracted her father and this was what caused her parents' accident.
1. Spike. We know that Team Angel fans are probably screaming at their computers right now, but hear us out. There are plenty of reasons Spike was the most powerful vampire in the Buffyverse.
It ended with him giving up his humanity so that he can help keep Buffy safe and so that he can help dave others. Only he's burdened with the memory of that day; Buffy doesn't know it ever happened.
Angel as "Twilight"
It convinced him that in order to protect the world from an inevitable apocalypse involving Buffy's recently-created Slayer Organization, Angel would have to adopt the "Twilight" persona and become Buffy's enemy to prevent the entire world from going through what Los Angeles did during the Fall.
The director explains that, like Satan, his Dracula was a fallen angel. Coppola even visited the grave of Vlad the Impaler, the historical Dracula who was known to impale his enemies, in Bucharest.
Later, in Angel's perfect-day dream sequence, Angel and Cordelia consummated their relationship, but Angel called out "Buffy!" as he lost his soul, just as he did in Sunnydale years earlier.
Biography. Angel was sired when he was eighteen years old, and since then he had caused nothing but death, mayhem, and mass destruction. He was eventually cursed with a soul, condemned to suffer from the guilt for his past crimes and the knowledge that he deserved this pain and remorse.
Angel is stronger. Spike probably has a slight edge in speed, and possibly in skill because Angel spent many years moping around and not training, but it's usually not enough to counter Angel's superior strength.
In the season finale, Cordelia arranges to meet Angel to confess her feelings, but is prevented from doing so by Skip, who informs her that she has become a higher being. Cordelia accepts her duty, and leaves Earth for another dimension.
Snow, being the oldest vampire to appear on Being Human, is also the physically strongest, and most powerful vampire seen throughout the shows run. His ancient age may have made him the physically strongest being to ever appear on the show, and possibly even surpasses the strength of a transformed werewolf.
The Age Difference Between Angel And Buffy
Buffy is 16 when she meets Angel in Season 1. Angel was turned into a vampire when he was 24, though he is technically 241 years old when he starts a relationship with the Slayer. Angel is older than Buffy as a human and a vampire.
Angelus was 171-years-old when he transformed into Angel. Despite his newfound remorse, Angel tried to return to his old life with Darla until 1900, when he reached a tipping point. Unable to kill innocents, Angel abandoned the Whirlwind and arrived in New York City in 1902.
After Buffy and Angel sleep together, Angel loses his soul, reverting to his supremely evil Angelus persona and teaming up with Drusilla and then villainous Spike.
Why did Angel turn evil after sleeping with Buffy? Angel loses his soul when he has sex with Buffy, due to a curse that restored his soul, but only to cause suffering. The curse reverses when he experiences "true happiness."
Buffy Summers lost her virginity to her then-lover, Angel, a vampire with a soul. It was mixed with all the saccharine anxiety that comes with your first time, plus a heavy dose of gothic aesthetics.
