Overall Abilities: Despite not being a Demon Slayer and having a tragic disease that makes his body incredibly frail, Tanjuro was shown to be a phenomenally strong individual. He was able to slay a bear nearly nine feet tall with a single axe at speeds magnitudes faster than the blink of an eye.
Tanjuro was quiet, wise, and loving person. He had a loving relationship with his family and had a very close father-son bond with Tanjiro. Even when he was ill, he still danced the Hinokami Kagura to celebrate their family's tradition, showing that cares a lot for his loved ones.
In Demon Slayer, Tanjuro mentioned that he never felt tired while performing those moves. However, Tanjiro seems to have a limit when he performs the Breath of the Sun. This could serve as a form of evidence supporting the fact that Tanjuro was possibly stronger than Tanjiro.
Yoriichi had lost his wife and unborn child to demons, and he had a fateful encounter with Muzan Kibutsuji, the Progenitor of Demons. Yoriichi defeated Muzan in an instant, but he had a question for him before eliminating him, which allowed Muzan to escape.
Moreover, Tanjiro's appearance somewhat resembled Tsugikuni. So the only reason Muzan is afraid of Tanjiro is because of the Hanafuda earrings he possesses, which acted as a reminder of his downfall.
It is revealed that Muzan's true fear of dying and immense desire to live and survive was due to him being born "dead," where his heart would constantly stop in his mother's womb and was assumed stillborn until he fought to breathe before his cremation.
Before he is able to regenerate fully, Tamayo appears and uses her Blood Demon Art to keep him in place, while using a drug that can turn him into human. Using this opportunity, Gyomei Himejima appears and destroys Muzan's head. However he is able to instantly regrow his head.
The demon slayers successfully defeated Muzan.
Muzan Kibutsuji has done some terrible things in Demon Slayer, but his slaughter of Tanjiro's family is one of the most mysterious.
Muzan keeps attacking the two Demon Slayers with his tendrils with Tanjiro falling over multiple times due to him not being able to his surroundings. Suddenly the Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji drops through the ceiling and stops Muzan's assault by using Love Breathing, Sixth Form: Cat-Legged Winds of Love.
During one of his visits, Yoriichi performed all of his Sun Breathing techniques in succession in front of Sumiyoshi and his family. Sumiyoshi was so captivated by the movements that he decided to pass it down to his descendants as a way to keep Yoriichi's legacy alive.
In terms of achievements, Tanjiro outsmarted Water Hashira with just his natural instincts and defeated a bunch of demons even before becoming a member of the Demon Slayer Corps.
Tanjiro Kamado, is the very recognizable main protagonist of the Demon Slayer series and is also known to be one of the most powerful demon slayers of the series, slashing down any demon that gets in his way.
It turns out that Muzan attacked the Kamado family and specifically turned Nezuko into a demon in an attempt to create a demon that would be able to withstand being in the sunlight.
In the Demon Slayer Corps, the Hashira is a group of the strongest and most reputable swordsmen who have defeated members of the Twelve Kizuki. Yet, for some reason, Tanjiro Kamado, the series' protagonist, never becomes a Hashira.
He was made a demon by Muzan Kibutsuji when Muzan was defeated by the Corps.
Is upper rank one Tanjiro's father? No, they are not related. Tanjiro, by PURE COINCIDENCE, heavily resembles Yoriichi Tsugikuni, the creator of Breath swordsmanship, the only other person to use Sun Breathing, and the only person Muzan ever feared.
Tanjiro is considered to be Muzan's main nemesis throughout the series. After murdering the Kamado family, he was personally sought out by Tanjiro in Asakusa, Tokyo when the Demon Slayer recognized his scent from the scene of the murder.
Muzan's Descent Into Evil in Demon Slayer
Whatever medicine the physician had crafted using the Blue Spider Lily had effectively granted Muzan immortality, transforming him into the world's first demon. Muzan quickly began to crave human flesh and had no issue devouring humans to assuage his hunger.

Sanemi managed to survive the battle against Muzan, if just barely. Unconscious and straddling the edge of death, Sanemi chose not to go to Heaven with his siblings, but to lovingly join his mother in Hell because she'd killed most of her children after she became a demon.
Since he didn't know anything about the Blue Spider Lily medicine, he needed others to find the plant for him by happenstance. This is the general reason why Muzan turned Nezuko into a demon. More specifically though, was the fact that Nezuko was of Kamado blood.
During Tanjiro and the rest of the Hashiras' showdown with the Demon King Muzan, Tanjiro is mortally wounded and dies. At the same time, Muzan receives a particularly fatal lil' booboo himself. As Muzan is about to shuffle off the mortal coil, he uses the last of his powers to turn Tanjiro into a demon.
As shown in the battle with Upper Rank 4, Demon Hantengu in chapter 126 of Demon Slayer, Nezuko was fully exposed to the sun and although this would have killed her, she was able to withstand the sunlight.
Gyomei Himejima, the Stone Hashira, is the strongest Hashira in the Demon Slayer corps in terms of strength and swordsmanship. He is the only person who uses spiked flails and an axe instead of standard swords to kill demons. Such a weapon takes immense precision and soundness to use without inflicting personal damage.
