Princess Luna is Princess Celestia's younger sister who serves as co-ruler of Equestria and uses her magic to raise the moon and safeguards her subjects' dreams during nighttime.
This lead to his decision to later sign up for Canterlots Royal Guard. Shining grew close to Twilight's foalsitter, Princess Cadence. They eventually fell in love and were set to be married in Canterlot.
Philomena is Princess Celestia's pet phoenix, residing in Canterlot and introduced in A Bird in the Hoof.
