Level B2 corresponds to independent users of the language, i.e. those who have the necessary fluency to communicate without effort with native speakers.
However, a B2 user is able to understand and be understood in most situations. To put this into perspective, users holding a B2 level are eligible for employment positions requiring higher levels of education (e.g. a lawyer). So, suffice to say this is a very good level.
B2 is the level where a student is considered fluent since their knowledge is advanced but not proficient.
If B2 is what many consider “fluent,” then C1 is fluency with increased nuance and understanding. At C1, you can understand subtle jokes in the language, and express yourself with colorful native phrases. When you reach C1, you should have a working vocabulary of about 8000 words – almost double that of B2!
It's generally considered that reaching B2 is having basic fluency. You'll have a vocabulary of about 4000 words. In fact, the standard requirements at German universities are levels B2 to C1, so if it is enough to get you into a German-speaking university, it is enough to be able to communicate.
If you´d like to work in Germany you´ll get by if your German is on level B1/B2 (online test). The certificate issued by GLS is recognized by many employers and even some universities in Germany.

Is there much difference between the exams? The answer is yes! You will need to work a lot harder and be serious about your preparation for the C1 Advanced exam. While the B2 First shows you have a good grounding in English, the C1 Advanced is closer to the level of a native speaker.
Level B1 indicates a more intermediate speaker who can hold basic conversations and understand simple texts. Level B2 is considered advanced, and speakers at this level can participate in complex conversations and understand long and difficult texts.
B2 | Upper Intermediate
At the B2 CEFR level, a language learner can: Understand the main ideas of a complex text such as a technical piece related to their field. Spontaneously interact without too much strain for either the learner or the native speaker.

B2 French Level – Advanced Level
B2 French level is the fourth level in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
Level B2: Basic Fluency
Reaching B2 is generally considered by most people as having basic fluency. You'll have a working vocabulary of around 4000 words.
As a rough guide, Cambridge exams estimate that each level is reached with the following guided learning hours: A2, 180–200; B1, 350–400; B2, 500–600; C1, 700–800, and C2, 1,000–1,200.

SKILLS AT LEVEL C1
He/she can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for the right expression. He/she can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
It is an alternative naming convention for CEFR levels where Vantage means B2 level. Other level names in this convention are: A1- Breakthrough, A2- Waystage, B1- Threshold, B2- Vantage, C1- Advanced, C2- Mastery. Which CEFR level is the highest? C2 (Proficiency) is the top level you can achieve on the CEFR scale.
An empirical study found that C1 level requires about 3750-4500 lemma. The English Profile has 4164 words for B2 and 6574 words for C1. Other estimates say 8000 words for C1, or 5000 active and 10000 passive words.

For example, you can use the website www.udemy.com. It has a lot of free courses about everything, any topic that can possibly interest you will probably be there.
Intermediate B1 to B2 – German level B1 takes 200 hours and B2 takes approximately 300 hours to become fluent. Advance C1 to C2 – C1 Level takes around 240 ... To reach a conversational, upper-intermediate level (B2), you can expect to spend 540-620 hours learning (between 11 months and 3 years).
