You should leave oil in your ear for 5 to 10 minutes, lying on your side with the affected ear up, to soften earwax, repeating this process for 3 to 5 days, 1-2 times daily, but never use oil if you have ear pain, discharge, or a perforated eardrum, and always consult a doctor if symptoms persist or if you're unsure.
