Buffy visits
Only two vampires had survived the Killer of the Dead, the second being Angel, who was cured by the blood of Buffy Summers after being infected with a poisoned arrow by Faith Lehane. To do so, Buffy had attempted to capture Faith to use her blood, but Faith escaped by falling on a passing truck after she was stabbed.
When Angel's curse was broken in 1998, Willow Rosenberg performed the spell a second time to restore his soul. She repeated this spell in 2003 after Angelus had been deliberately set free again by his friends.
Though the duo succeeded in wounding it, the Mohra escaped, and Buffy and Angel immediately tracked it down in the sewers. The two became separated, and Angel seemingly killed the demon, and in doing so, its blood mixed with his own and resurrected him, making him human again.
In the season finale, neophyte witch Willow (Alyson Hannigan) manages to restore Angel's soul at the last moment, but Buffy is forced to kill him to save the world from Acathla, and Angel is sent to hell.
He was forced by his restored conscience to reconcile with his sinful past; however, the curse came with an additional danger: Angel could never experience true happiness, as it would result in the removal of his soul. Angel lost his soul twice: first, when he slept with Buffy Summers, and again, due to a spell.
I Will Remember You (Angel)
Angel's birth (human) name was Liam (Irish version of the name William - something that's featured in some Angel/Spike fics as Spike's human name was William). On the show, in flashbacks, Liam is portrayed as a drunk and a disappointment to his father.
Only he's burdened with the memory of that day; Buffy doesn't know it ever happened.
"There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb"
In the season 2 finale of Angel, the Angel Investigations team arrives back to the hotel to find a grief-stricken Willow sitting, waiting for them with some bad news: Buffy is dead.
Unknown to Buffy, Angel is released from his curse and turned back into the infamous Angelus. The gang eventually find out that there was a second aspect to the gypsy curse; if Angel ever were to experience a moment of true happiness, he would lose his soul and revert to his former evil self.
1. Spike. We know that Team Angel fans are probably screaming at their computers right now, but hear us out. There are plenty of reasons Spike was the most powerful vampire in the Buffyverse.
Towards the end of season four, events take their toll on Connor's sanity, and his memories are rewritten to give him a normal life. The next time he appears in season five, Connor is a well-adjusted person. At the return of his memories, Connor finally reconciles with Angel in the series finale.
Darla becomes pregnant, a unique occurrence for a vampire. She sacrifices herself in order to give birth to her and Angel's human son Connor, ending her run on the series.
Buffy visits Angel and forces him to drink her blood, allowing Angel to recover.
Angel's Series Finale Ends On A Cliffhanger
Angel infiltrates the group, renouncing the prophecy and giving up any chance of becoming human to convince them of his loyalty. The team then has one last day on Earth, with Angel telling them they're probably going to die.
In her final hours, Cordelia curiously became the pseudo-villain of the series after being possessed by the malevolent entity Jasmine. Instead of getting the kind of epic, valiant sendoff that other villains-turned-scoobies did for their finales, Cordelia simply fell into a coma and died unceremoniously in a hospital.
Later, in Angel's perfect-day dream sequence, Angel and Cordelia consummated their relationship, but Angel called out "Buffy!" as he lost his soul, just as he did in Sunnydale years earlier.
It actually speaks to Abrams's point about Buffy -- that Angel was the perfect love interest for Buffy when she was growing into her own, while Spike was an ideal man to be with her when she'd fully embraced her power and potential.
Angelus terrorizes Willow and the Gang at school, emotionally tormenting Buffy. Later, as they discuss Angel's transformation in the library, Buffy realises that having sex with Angel is what caused him to turn evil. Buffy has a dream in which Angel indicates that Jenny knows more than she is letting on.
How old is Angel/Spike/Drusilla/Darla? Their sirings are all shown in flashbacks: Angel was turned in 1753, Spike in 1880, Drusilla in 1860, and Darla in 1609. Angel is 26, Drusilla is 19.
After three seasons on Buffy, Cordelia left the series to move over to star in Angel, a spin-off series focusing on Buffy's vampire ex-lover Angel (David Boreanaz). The first season of Angel sees Cordelia move to Los Angeles, in the hopes of escaping her new-found poverty by becoming an actress.
He gives Buffy the amulet and offers to be the one to use it, but then finds out about Buffy's relationship with Spike, and that he's no longer the only vamp around with a soul. Bit of a tough visit for Angel. Spike ends up using the amulet, sacrificing himself to save the day and defeat The First.
Regardless, Buffy is still referred to as the Slayer. Buffy's second death did not result in another slayer being called because of Faith—a new slayer would not be called until her death; however, Buffy's second resurrection for some reason caused an imbalance in the Slayer line.
Season two, episode 14 – Innocence
After Buffy and Angel sleep together, Angel loses his soul, reverting to his supremely evil Angelus persona and teaming up with Drusilla and then villainous Spike.
