There shouldn't be a noticeable smell if the stoma pouch is intact and sealed. Getting the right product is key in managing any odour. If there is a smell, this could be because the filter on the stoma is blocked, or the bag isn't stuck down properly.

You have developed a leak. The filter on the bag has become wet, letting odour escape through the filter. You are experiencing diarrhoea. If you have a urostomy – you may have a urine infection.
Having diarrhoea will often mean that the stoma bag needs to be changed much more regularly than usual. This can mean that you go through supplies much quicker and also lead to irritation of the peristomal skin.

If the Dermabond does not come off after two weeks then cover it liberally with petroleum jelly. Massage it into the skin to loosen the bond between the Dermabond and the skin. Gently peel away the substance and clean the area to remove the excess.

The oil will help break down and dissolve the super glue's bond. Gently rub the area to loosen the glue without forcing it. Wash any leftover oil with soap and water.
