After you hide a Tile, the app prompts you on how to unhide your hidden Tile. In the Tile app, tap Settings. Scroll down to and select Manage Hidden Tiles to see the Tiles you have hidden or replaced.
If you don't notice anything that obvious, use your flashlight and mirror to check under the seats, under and behind the dash, inside and behind the glove compartment, and in the center console. Trackers can also be hidden in seat pockets, between seats, behind sun visors, and elsewhere.
Tile has announced a "Scan and Secure" feature that's available in its mobile app. It allows anyone who uses the Tile app on iOS or Android to scan for any unwanted Tile trackers nearby. It's considered a safety feature, and it's completely free to use.
The Tile itself does not have GPS location services.
To track your Tiled items as they move in real time, they have to be within range. For example, to track your Tiled car keys in real time, the keys must be within Bluetooth range of your smartphone.
In the Tile app, tap the device you want to locate. If the device you want to locate is in range it will connect within 2 minutes and Find will appear. Tap Find to ring the device you want to locate.
Scan and Secure is a security measure that Tile implemented in order to allow iPhone and Android users to scan for and detect nearby Tile devices to keep them from being used for stalking purposes.
New Tile trackers, like the 2022 Tile Pro, Tile Mate, and Tile Slim now feature QR codes printed right on the back. Anyone who finds a lost Tile tracker can then simply scan the QR code using their smartphone and get the provided contact details of the owner so they can safely return the item.
How Far Can You Track the Tile? Since Tile uses Bluetooth, it's limited by the range of Bluetooth. Tile states their tracking devices work at distances of up to 150 feet for the Tile Sticker, 200 feet for the Tile Slim and Tile Mate, and 400 feet for the Tile Pro.
When you attach a Tile to your item, you'll be able to find it anywhere as long as it's within the Bluetooth tracking range. Even if you misplace your item somewhere out of range, the global Tile Network can help you search for lost and stolen belongings.

It will typically look like a small box with a magnetic side. It may or may not have an antenna or a light on it. It will be small, usually three to four inches long, two inches wide and an inch or so thick. Be sure you have a flashlight for peeking into dark spaces in your car.
When a Tile is activated to an account, it cannot be deactivated. However, it can be transferred to another account. In order to protect your privacy, you can have the seller contact our Customer Care team using their Tile app account email address so that we can transfer the Tile to you.
The fastest way to find your Tile when it's nearby is to ring it. In the Tile app, check if there's a green Find button for the Tile you want to ring. Note: The green Find button means you are within Bluetooth range of the Tile and you are connected to it.
The Tile has a QR code on the back
Scan the QR code with your mobile device camera. If the owner of the Tile has marked it as lost and entered their contact information, it will show so you can coordinate the return of the Tile and lost item.

If you really lose your Tile, you can put it in “lost mode,” and the Tile will silently ping anyone with the Tile app running on their phone. When someone with the Tile app comes within range of your lost tile, you'll get a notification of the location.
The Tile Mate has a range of up to 250 feet, making it well-suited for a wide range of uses, especially around the house.
Tile Mate, Tile Slim, and Tile Sticker all come with a sealed 3-year battery. You can simply use these devices for up to three years without ever needing to worry about the battery dying or the Tile running out of power. The Tile Pro comes with a battery that lasts for one year, but is replaceable.
Is there an app that can detect a GPS tracker? Yes, there are many apps that can detect if a GPS tracker has been installed on your cell phone. If you have an Android phone you can download Certo Mobile Security for free from the Play Store and quickly scan your phone for GPS tracking apps and other malware.
So can a GPS tracker be blocked? Yes, the GPS signals can be blocked by wet trees, aluminum foil, plastic containers, or even a tin box filled with thick materials can block GPS signals.
