When I surveyed INFJs about their flirting styles, more than anything, they expressed a deep desire to connect emotionally with someone they liked. They will be more emotionally open, express more of their deeper longings, and become more vulnerable with you if they like you.
Kindness. As sensitive personalities, INFJs feel attracted to people who show kindness towards others. Extraverted Feeling is their auxiliary function, which means INFJs try to connect in a gentle way, and appreciate those who can do the same. Most INFJs also strive to make a positive impact on the world.
They also have an incredible ability to sense their partner's needs and desires, and respond to them with uncanny accuracy. In addition, whether it's through a date, present, or praise, INFJs will look for creative methods to express their love for you. They will make an effort to make you feel loved and acknowledged.
You attract an INFJ by listening to them; without trying to come up with solutions. Although advice can be very helpful at times, sometimes, listening intently really helps more. LIstening helps validate the emotions of people and show how attentive and aware you are. But also that you're present.
For example, an INFJ may be turned off by someone who is superficial and focused on material things. INFJs are all about connecting with others and they care deeply about meaningful, authentic relationships. Consequently, someone who is too concerned with money or material objects may be a big turn-off for them.
INFJ. INFJs aren't naturally flirty. They get quite nervous when it comes to flirting, and it takes them a long time to open up. If an INFJ likes you, they'll listen intently to every word you say to try and figure you out.
According to Priebe's survey, 35.67% of INFJs list “Quality Time” as their preferred love language. This is followed by Words of Affirmation (25.54%), Physical Touch (21.83%), Acts of Service (14.04%), and Gifts (2.92%).
INTP (“The Logician”)
In the world of personality theory, the INTP and INFJ pairing has been nicknamed “The Golden Pair” because these two types can be highly compatible.
INFJs never make the first move.
It's not completely impossible for an INFJ to make the first move, but it's highly unlikely for an INFJ to put themselves out there, especially with a stranger. Even when an INFJ knows that the other person is into them, they probably still won't make the first move.
However, time and time again, INFJs have told me that they get uncomfortably awkward around their crushes. They giggle more, trip over things more, and make self-deprecating jokes to try to ease the tension.
The INFJ is most compatible with both the ENFJ and the ENTP. These two personality types can use their extroversion to bring out the best-hidden qualities of the INFJ. They will become more confident and try new activities to push beyond their comfort zone.
INFJ. INFJs can often fluctuate when it comes to their desire to maintain their personal appearance. They are either complete perfectionists, or they go through stages of not caring at all.
They need some time to open up and feel comfortable enough to show their feelings. Once they do, they'll turn into your guardian angel. You'll know unmistakably that an INFJ has fallen in love with you. They will shower you with tenderness, listen to your thoughts and concerns, and do everything to make you happy.
INFJs ranked as having low dominance according to the CPI™ tool. Since the traits linked with low-dominance were being quiet, cautious, or hesitant to take action, this makes sense. INFJs tend to be on the quiet side, and they also tend to be extremely independent.
ENFP. If you have an ENFP as a friend, you'll know how fun and inclusive these types can be. ENFPs may be an INFJ's best match due to the similarities and complementary traits these types share.
INFJs are sensitive souls who are easily overwhelmed, but they have their limits. If they feel stressed by their environment, or the people in it, they'll tend to cry or become very quiet and want to be alone. Some INFJs will be cold, sarcastic and very blunt or speak to someone only on a very superficial level.
INFJs have unique needs and expectations when it comes to romantic relationships and you may struggle to find someone who matches you intellectually and emotionally.
The ESTP. Probably one of the most flirtatious personality types, ESTPs are not afraid to show their interest in someone with direct and often bold moves. They're excellent at reading body language and they know how to send out the right signals that will make them stand out from the crowd.
ENFJ (The Protagonist)
This personality type's outgoing nature and empathy makes them a formidable flirt. They're very tuned in to other people's emotions and needs, and they can use this to their flirtatious advantage by making whoever they are chatting up feel truly seen.
Because of our passionate need for meaningful connection, we INFJs can get jealous easily when we see other people connecting and having fun. We might compare ourselves to them, or worse yet, when someone close to us has friends of their own, we might pull away, feeling unwanted and pathetic.
The INFJ feels like the friendship is one-sided.
If they feel like they're always the ones giving and never the ones receiving, they may cut off a relationship so they can allocate their emotional investment into a better, healthier relationship. When relationships start to feel one-sided, INFJs tend to pull away.
Because INFJs are so naturally aware of harmony levels and emotional needs, they are irritated by people who seem tactless, rude, mean-spirited, troll-ish, or unnecessarily disruptive. In situations where someone is corrupting the emotional atmosphere for their own selfish gains, an INFJ can become severely angered.
