No, Gol D. Roger did not have a Devil Fruit; he became the Pirate King through immense Haki mastery (especially Conqueror's Haki) and sheer willpower, a feat highlighted by characters like Kaido, who noted Roger's strength without a fruit, proving Haki's power. His crew even considered Devil Fruits a foolish choice, with Buggy being the only known user among them.
There is a scene where Rogers mentions not having a son. This can't be true since Ace is a son of his. He didn't have Ace during that scene, it's not that hard to understand... And no, Shanks is not Roger's son.

The rarest Devil Fruit type is the Mythical Zoan, even rarer than powerful Logias, though specific fruits like the Time-Time Fruit (Toki Toki no Mi) or the Dark-Dark Fruit (Yami Yami no Mi) are exceptionally rare due to unique properties or extremely long periods of dormancy, making them arguably the rarest individual fruits. While Mythical Zoans (like phoenixes or mythical creatures) are the scarcest category, fruits with unique, reality-bending powers or those that disappear for centuries become incredibly rare in practice.
