Daisy does not want to be seen attending Gatsby's funeral because she does care about her reputation, despite the fact that she has never loved Tom. As a result, she makes the decision to abstain out of concern that she will damage both her connection with Tom and her standing in the eyes of the general public.
Daisy isn't really talking about—or weeping over—the shirts from England. Her strong emotional reaction comes from the excitement of Gatsby having the proper wealth, and perhaps remorse over the complexity of the situation; he is finally a man she could marry, but she is already wed to Tom.
Upon seeing the shirts, Daisy cries and explains, “It makes me sad because I've never seen such—such beautiful shirts before.” One reason for Daisy's reaction could be that she only cares about material goods, and so something like fine clothing can make her feel affection for Gatsby.
Daisy Cries Because the Shirts Are Beautiful
Daisy's actions are reminiscent of someone who would cry because they haven't been able to experience the joy of seeing such beautiful shirts before. Gatsby is certainly now of a means that would afford him shirts that perhaps even Tom couldn't afford or source.
Upon reaching his bedroom, she bursts into tears at the sight of his varied collection of expensive, tailor-made shirts and explains, “They're such beautiful shirts … It makes me sad because I've never seen such — such beautiful shirts before”.
Outside, the rain has stopped, and Gatsby invites Nick and Daisy over to his house, where he shows them his possessions. Daisy is overwhelmed by his luxurious lifestyle, and when he shows her his extensive collection of English shirts, she begins to cry.
Daisy is a beautiful fool, she knows about Tom's affair, but doesn't say anything just so to keep that image of an ideal happy family. Daisy thought she had love when she married Tom, but in reality it was for his money.
Eventually, Gatsby won Daisy's heart, and they made love before Gatsby left to fight in the war. Daisy promised to wait for Gatsby, but in 1919 she chose instead to marry Tom Buchanan, a young man from a solid, aristocratic family who could promise her a wealthy lifestyle and who had the support of her parents.
Daisy cries because she has never seen such beautiful shirts, and their appearance makes her emotional. The scene solidifies her character and her treatment of Gatsby. She is vain and self-serving, only concerned with material goods.
In that novel, Nick loves Gatsby, the erstwhile James Gatz of North Dakota, for his capacity to dream Jay Gatsby into being and for his willingness to risk it all for the love of a beautiful woman. In a queer reading of Gatsby, Nick doesn't just love Gatsby, he's in love with him.
Nick first sees Gatsby stretching his arms towards a green light at the end of Daisy's dock. Here, the green light is a symbol of hope.
Another crucial meaning that the clock in the novel bears concerns Gatsby's willingness to go back in time to when he was a much happier man. Therefore, the clock becomes the symbol of the impossibility of reversing time despite Gatsby's burning desire to do so (Fitzgerald 93).
Gatsby's funeral is ironic because only three people attend, while enormous crowds attended his parties. Despite being a popular figure in the social scene, once Gatsby passes, neither Daisy, his business partner Henry Wolfsheim, nor any of his partygoers seem to remember him or care.
Henry C. Gatz, Gatsby's father, comes to the mansion three days after his son's death, aged and wearing plain clothes. He's grief-stricken and asks Nick what his relationship was with Gatsby. Nick says they were close friends.

In the season 8 episode The Tiger in the Tale, they broke up. In the Season 10 premiere, it is learned that Sweets and Daisy got back together. Daisy became pregnant with a baby boy and she announces that Booth is the godfather.
Gatsby fell in love with Daisy and the wealth she represents, and she with him (though apparently not to the same excessive extent), but he had to leave for the war and by the time he returned to the US in 1919, Daisy has married Tom Buchanan.
The relationship between Tom and Daisy is built more on money rather than love, however, there is little bits of love. Daisy marries Tom because of his wealth, but throughout their relationship she does, fall in love with Tom at least once.
Daisy, who doesn't know Myrtle, is driving the car when it strikes Myrtle down; Daisy doesn't even stop to see what happened, and escapes without consequences. The lower class characters – Gatsby, Myrtle, and George – are thus essentially sacrificed for the moral failings of the upper class characters of Tom and Daisy.
Tom is restless and unhappy, and his wife, Daisy, is the primary victim of the side effects of Tom's emotions. Tom not only has a visible affair with a woman in town, but he is abusive to both his wife and his mistress.
Gatsby is only in love with Daisy because of her identity and what she represents. He is unable to forget the past where Daisy once saw him as a perfect man in her eyes and can't accept his new reality. Gatsby's want of wealth and power only proves that he only loves the idea of her and not actually her.
Daisy Buchannan is made to represent the lack of virtue and morality that was present during the 1920s. She is the absolute center of Gatsby's world right up to his death, but she is shown to be uncaring and fickle throughout the novel.
Daisy soon married Tom in the biggest wedding that Louisville had ever seen. Jordan was a bridesmaid and an hour before the bridal dinner, She Came upon Daisy drunk in her room crying.
Daisy's wedding is described in the novel, and it isn't difficult to see that she is rather upset just before the wedding takes place. She gets a letter from Jay Gatsby that disturbs her, as she is reminded that she rejected the man she really loved in favor of a wealthy man.
