Later, in Angel's perfect-day dream sequence, Angel and Cordelia consummated their relationship, but Angel called out "Buffy!" as he lost his soul, just as he did in Sunnydale years earlier.
In the episode "Waiting in the Wings", Angel realizes he has romantic feelings for Cordelia, but is prevented from voicing them by the return of Groosalugg. Cordelia dates Groosalugg for the remainder of the season, but Groo notices she loves Angel instead and decides to leave.

Canon is that Angel loves Buffy, but due to the curse on him, they cannot be together because if truly happy, he goes back to being Angelus.
She appears as a regular in the first three seasons before exiting the show to join the spin-off Angel after graduating from Sunnydale High. Cordy actually ends up dating Xander Harris despite how much they've always hated each other.
For years, there have been whispers of Cordelia being written off of Angel because Whedon was upset with Carpenter's pregnancy. Carpenter confirmed as much in her statement, admitting that Whedon “asked me if I was 'going to keep it' and manipulatively weaponized my womanhood and faith against me.

After making love with Buffy, Angel is racked with pain as his soul is ripped from him. In the street, he kills a passer-by when she offers to help him. He goes to the factory to join Spike and Drusilla, but the Judge attacks him. It is unable to burn him because Angel has fully reverted to the evil Angelus.

The two kiss, and Angel initially hesitates, only for Cordelia to tell him not to worry. Angel succumbs and the two are soon making love, and Angel starts to feel perfect bliss causing him to gasp out, "Buffy," as he begins to lose his soul.
As Cordelia becomes pregnant and manipulates Connor into helping her sacrifice an innocent girl for their child, his inhuman actions begin conflicting with his inner good, accelerating his already deteriorating mental health.
Meanwhile, Cordelia convinces Connor to mystically expedite the birth using the blood of a virgin. Angel arrives in time to stop him, but hesitates, and Cordelia gives birth to a full grown woman.
Ascension into a higher being
Because of this action of accepting demonhood, Cordelia was deemed a higher being and ascended to a higher realm. There she was able to wage the war on evil in a new way as a higher being in paradise with the Powers That Be.
Angel and Buffy split only because of the curse on Angel, that a moment of perfect happiness would cause him to lose his soul. It happened in season 2, after their first night together, and the consequences were so awful that Buffy actually had to kill him to save the world (not to mention her friends).
In the episode "Surprise", Buffy loses her virginity to Angel, an event which triggers the loss of his soul and unleashes his sadistic alter-ego, Angelus.

Connor was the half-demon son of the vampires Angel and Darla and a member of Angel Investigations. Connor was conceived when his father, Angel, slept with Darla while going through a dark phase.
Angel killed him and finally recognized Buffy afterward, and regained his sanity. Though the Scooby gang do not trust him after he went bad, Angel manage to win back some good faith and acceptance in the gang after he saves Willow from being killed by the corrupt former Watcher Gwendolyn Post.
In Angel season 4 Cordelia is possessed by the ancient demon Jasmine, who slept with Connor in order to give birth to herself. After Cordelia gave birth to Jasmine, she was put in a coma and only returned in Angel season 5, episode 12, "You're Welcome" wherein she died as a result of the coma.
Her honest and literal presentation also make her comically bad at any form of deception. Cordelia is a textbook example of how autism can go undetected and undiagnosed in girls, especially if they are rich and pretty with traditionally feminine interests and hobbies like fashion or cheer-leading.
