You generally apply Seasol to moist soil, either by watering before a light shower/watering or by watering after applying it to help it soak in, but don't need to water it in heavily as it's readily absorbed; the key is applying to damp soil in cooler parts of the day for best results. If soil is very dry, water first, then apply. For some products like Super Soil Wetter, you need to wash it off foliage to prevent burning.
