Once you have an accepted payment method linked to your account, any money sent to you is transferred right away. Note: It may take your payment provider up to 3-5 business days to post the money to your account.
To receive money: If you've already added a debit card or PayPal to Meta Pay, money sent to you is automatically accepted. You do not need to take any action. From the Messenger homepage, open the conversation containing the payment.

Besides cash, a certified cashier's check is the most secure way to accept payment during a private sale.
If your payment to a friend in Messenger isn't working, it may be because: Your friend doesn't live in the US. Your friend isn't at least 18 years old. Your friend doesn't have a payment method linked to their account.
There is a limit to the amount of money you can send using Facebook Pay. For Visa debit cards, the limit is $10,000. For MasterCard debit cards, the limit is $5,000.
As for payment, carrying cash, especially a lot of cash, is risky. Facebook Marketplace recommends a secure person-to-person payment method such as PayPal.
