For at least 24 hours, you'll want to avoid saunas, tanning beds, and even the gym. Wait for Sex: Give yourself about 2 days, or 24-48 hours, to recover from the wax before engaging in any sexual activity. Keep it Loose: Avoid tight and constricting clothing for a few days after your wax.
Avoid exercise, hot bath/shower, sauna, steam, hot tub, pools and beaches 24 hours after waxing. Sweating can carry bacteria into the pores and can irritate the skin after waxing. Keep hands from touching freshly waxed skin, minimizing chances of getting irritations or small pimples.

Pubic hair needs to be at least the length of a grain of rice or ¼ of an inch long. Many people feel self-conscious about hair being too long before their Brazilian wax, but longer hair is grabbed by wax better. If you trim beforehand, you could cut it too short and forfeit the ability to wax.

Avoid touching your newly hair-free skin—and that means taking care to ensure nothing else touches your skin, either. Since your skin will be more sensitive in the first 24-28 hours after a wax, skip any activities that could cause friction.
Dry, brittle hair could possibly have broken during your wax. Reduce this from happening by exfoliating (a couple to few times a week) and moisturizing (daily) between wax appointments.
To prevent bumps and ingrowns, try applying a cold pack to the waxed area immediately following your service, which will close the pores and block bacteria from entering.
If you're going to bathe after waxing, try to at least avoid doing so no sooner than 2 hours after hair removal, and give your skin a chance to breathe! You should also never take a bath just after getting freshly waxed. Instead, take a lukewarm shower and use a non-scented cleanser or body wash to clean with.
Avoid the following for 24 hours after your wax: Swimming and exercise. For Brazilian Wax, no sex, especially oral sex for 24 hours.
"Patients tell me that the most painful areas for waxing are also the most overall sensitive areas, especially in the pubic area," Ciraldo says. Hair around the genitals and bikini line tends to be thicker than on other areas of the body, requiring more force to yank it and, thus, causing more pain.
You don't need to remove your pants
You can leave them on and your beauty therapist can work around them. By wearing them, you might feel a little more comfortable with the situation. Just be sure to wear comfortable underwear and not your lacy panties.
Should I trim my pubic hair before a Brazilian wax? And how long is too long? Up to 1/2 inch should be fine. If your hair is any longer you may feel some discomfort when the wax is applied.
You can still do have this treatment done. I would recommend using Hot Wax, as it reduces the pain. It is also important to stretch the skin properly - your Beauty Therapist must know how to do it and may also ask you to hold the skin.
Post-Waxing
If after you get back from your appointment, if you notice a few stray hairs, it is definitely okay to tweeze them away. However, it is not a good idea to that sporadically before your next appointment.
Hair follicles remain open for hours after waxing, so it's best to avoid contact with any excess moisture for at least 24 hours. If you must bathe the same day as your wax, take a shower, not a bath. The bacteria, skin, and product in the water could cause infection.
Brazilian waxes last about three to six weeks. The best thing you can do for your skin is to wax regularly. The more you do it, the longer the results last. If you wait longer or only get waxed a couple times a year, it will be much more painful.
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize
She recommends a 20-minute shower after a wax treatment, and while you're in the shower, use an in-shower oil. "Immediately follow with lotion," she says, "Applying oil and lotion on wet skin will allow the product to lock moisture in by trapping some of the water on the skin."
It's not unheard of for clients to see some hair a few days after their wax appointment. This happens when people haven't settled into a wax regime, as it takes a few sessions to get an even regrowth cycle for all the hairs in a particular part of the body.
Whatever you do, don't pop your pimples. This spreads the bacteria and can encourage even more pimples to appear. Instead, apply a tiny bit of tea tree oil or your favorite pimple-killing product to the outside area only. How long do pimples after waxing last?
DO moisturize after waxing. Using gentle oil-based products, such as baby oil, can help to remove any wax residue while keeping the skin supple. If you prefer using a lotion-based after-wax care, try our 'Rub Me Down' lavender and chamomile moisturizer.
To speed up recovery, I always recommend that clients be very gentle on the area for at least 2 days post appointment. This means no tanning, exfoliants, heat, friction or lotions. Anything that could possibly irritate the area further.
