Kylo hurled his Sith lightsaber into the sea, becoming Ben Solo again. Ben hurried to Exegol and fought Palpatine alongside Rey. Rey destroyed the Sith Lord, but the effort left her dying. Making a sacrifice that recalled that of Anakin Skywalker, Ben gave his life to heal her.
Reclaiming his identity as Ben Solo, the redeemed Jedi joined Rey on Exegol to save her from Sidious and defeat him once and for all, though the effort took Rey's life. When Solo sacrificed himself to revive Rey, he died and became one with the Force, joining his parents, uncle, and grandfather.
Both Rey and Kylo heal each other's wounds in this movie. Kylo even brings Rey back to life at one point by transferring his life force to her.
This redemption occurred through a complicated and quasi-romantic relationship with Rey, a young Jedi-aspirant whom he tried to turn to the dark side at the charge of the ultimate evil mastermind of the series, Palpatine. Kylo Ren ultimately sacrificed himself to support Rey in confronting Palpatine.
Kylo's borderline personality disorder may cause him serious issues, but he would face a tough battle establishing that it is a severe disorder.
Even though Kylo Ren uses a red lightsaber, harnesses the dark side of the Force, and wears a cape, he is not a Sith. Because of that, he can never hold the title of Darth. Instead, he was just a chaotic mess of the dark side (until he eventually found his way back to the light).
“So Leia Force projects herself as Ben and uses her life force to save Rey. Even going as far as to kiss Rey to convince her it's Ben. It's why when Ben disappeared, so did Leia.”

What is the connection between Kylo Ren and Rey? As Kylo Ren himself says in The Rise of Skywalker, he and Rey are bonded not just by their familial legacies (Ren as the grandson of Darth Vader and Rey as the granddaughter of Emperor Palpatine) but by their unique connection in the Force.
Why Did Rey Bury the Lightsabers? Since Luke and Leia, her masters, have become one with the Force, this is her way of honoring them by putting their weapons to rest. It also shows that Rey is burying the past while carrying it with her — both in her spirit and in the lightsaber she now wields.
Oh, she cared all right. But there was still a war going on all around her, and she still had to get off of Exegol safely, and it would have been a terrible waste of Ben's sacrifice for her to just lie there wallowing in her grief when he'd given her back her life so she could live it.
Rey's love interest in the Star Wars sequel trilogy is Ben Solo (also known as Kylo Ren). I think the movie makes it rather obvious who she loves. She literally tells Ren that she would have taken the hand of Ben Solo.
At the end of the Skywalker Saga's final chapter, he revives Rey (this is after she spends just about all of her energy defeating Grandpa Palpatine). Then, the two engage in some intense staring, followed by a kiss, and eventually, Solo dies, his body disappearing as he floated away to wherever Force ghosts go.
The passage in the book reads as follows: "His heart was full as Rey reached for his face, let her fingers linger against his cheek. And then, wonder of wonders, she leaned forward and kissed him. A kiss of gratitude, acknowledgement of their connection, celebration that they'd found each other at last.
Kylo Ren turns good and Rey gives him a kiss, but he still dies in saving her. This sacrifice is very similar to Vader's end in the original trilogy, and it's typical of villains who are redeemed after crossing the moral event horizon.
Do Rey and Kylo have kids? She does not have a baby bump, her hand never goes to her stomach to indicate she's carrying a child, and there wasn't exactly any time for her to have conceived a child with anyone in the course of the film, including Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.

Ben Solo Sacrifices Himself
In order to defeat the Emperor, Rey is forced to use all of the energy she has left, dying in the process. Fortunately for her, Ben survived being thrown into a chasm by the Emperor and can save her. To do so, he must sacrifice what life energy he has left to revive her.
She also knows Obi-Wan, and she knows him well. Her holographic plea for help, already iconic, will never be the same. She knows Obi-Wan's real name as well as his alias of “Ben.” When Luke comes barging into her cell and says, “I'm here with Ben Kenobi,” Leia jumps off the bunk in an instant.
In A New Hope, Leia's utter faith in Obi-Wan Kenobi comes circuitously from her father, who, in that film, is never glimpsed. However, when Luke breaks Leia out of her cell and says, “I'm here with Ben Kenobi,” and Leia doesn't miss a beat. She knows that's his other name.
However, rather than be an oversight or plot hole, Leia might not have remembered old Ben for one sinister reason. This has to do with Ben's Jedi powers, namely the mind trick. As he grew older, he'd use it on Stormtroopers to protect Luke Skywalker.

The lightsaber's redesign was a byproduct of the bleeding process that damaged its kyber crystal, rendering it dangerously flawed and unstable, and necessitating the lateral vents were meant to prevent the cracked kyber crystal from overloading.
