Although your horse can be safely left alone overnight, you should never leave your horse unattended for longer than 10 hours. Doing so can have a serious impact on the health or happiness of your equine companion.
Their instincts tell them that there are predators lurking around every corner and therefore they still feel much safer in a herd than alone. Horses that live alone do not get to benefit from the shared responsibilities of herd life and all the benefits of social behaviour.
Horses have to keep walking in order to continuously find new plants. Horses that are kept in yards or stables must either be turned out daily onto pasture (preferably with other horses) or a large area (again preferably with other horses) so that they are able to not only move, but interact socially with other horses.

But instead of having them stay, they just come over and care for your animals. You can even have them play with your pets, or clean stalls. The cost is about the same as having someone stay in your home. But if you only need them to come feed outside pets (like horses) this is an option too.
If your horse has no serious health conditions and your facilities provide the necessary safety and amenities, then it is perfectly fine to leave your horse out at night.
Separation anxiety in horses is a relatively common condition, and when it occurs, it can be problematic for owners and riders. Separation anxiety usually arises when bonded horses are separated and are unable to touch or see each other.
A horse that is stressed due to a lack of companionship may show behaviours that include running around a lot (usually up and down the fence line that prevents the horse from reaching other horses) and whinnying. They may also lose weight.
If possible, interact with your horse for an hour or two, five to six days a week. If that's not possible, carve out one midweek slot so you can space visits evenly. To reduce daily grooming time, hire competent help for a weekly deep-cleaning.
Isolation of New Arrivals
Quarantine new arrivals for a minimum of 21 days, ensuring they have limited shared air space and are downwind of the main stabling area. Ideally new horses should be kept on a separate area of the yard. Use enrichment to provide mental stimulation and keep the horse occupied.
The horse shouldn't be left overnight or longer than 8 hours without food as this can predispose them to colic. Eliminate grain and other concentrated and high-sugar feeds. Limit pasture access in some way during the spring and autumn when the grasses tend to be highest in their sugar/starch content.
