But the most famous wielder of the hammer other than Thor was Chris Evans' Captain America, who finally lifted the hammer against Thanos in Avengers: Endgame.

In this epic scene, Captain America picks up Mjölnir (Thor's hammer) and uses it to smack Thanos. Honestly, it's one of the great parts of Endgame.
Thor Odinson initially suspects Jane might be this new hero. But he eliminates her from his list of suspects because she is going through chemotherapy for breast cancer, which, he reasons, would make her too weak to fight.
Thanos was able to lift Stormbreaker because the axe doesn't have worthiness enchantment as Mjlolnir does. Mjolnir is specific when it comes to the wielder's might since the only prerequisite to wielding is that the wielder is “worthy” of its might.

Another version appears in the seventh episode, which Thor uses to fight against Captain Marvel. For unexplained reasons, Thor remains the only one able to lift the hammer in this universe despite Odin never shown enchanting it with the "worthy" spell.

Well, for starters, the hammer in question, Mjolnir, can only be wielded by those who are considered “worthy,” a little mystical insurance policy put on it by Thor's dad, Odin. It's pretty cool to see the Avenger who is the purest of heart officially deemed “worthy” of the weapon of a god.
The Infinity Stones are some of the oldest items existing in the Marvel Universe, and put together, their power is unmatched. If used wisely, they should be able to take down Mjolnir without any effort.

The winner of this fight would be Thanos based on his superior brute strength, and raw powers. However, if Thor uses some clever strategies, he could defeat the villain, especially since he has access to more powerful weapons and techniques.
Hela Was Worthy Enough to Destroy Mjolnir
But the impactful scene in Thor: Ragnarok depicts Hela catching Mjolnir in mid-air before then crushing it to pieces. Odin previously told Thor the power of the Uru metal had no equal.
In the stories (and the Marvel movies), we see the god throwing the short-handled hammer at his enemies. The top of the Mjölnir often (but not always) comes to a slight point, giving the overall object a somewhat diamond shaped appearance. This shape is similar to an inverted Tyr rune.
