Yes, women can request a woman Uber driver using the "Women Rider Preference" feature in the Uber app, available in many locations, allowing them to match with female drivers for increased comfort, though availability isn't guaranteed as it depends on nearby female drivers. You can activate this by setting a preference in the app's settings or choosing the "Women Drivers" option when booking a trip.
You can't directly specify that you want a female driver. What happens is that a driver gets assigned to you and once that driver accepts the ride you have a short window of time to reject the driver and ask Uber to find a different driver for you.
We're adding new options to the app to help women riders and drivers match with each other. Riders can choose Women Drivers when requesting or reserving a trip or set a preference to increase their chances of getting matched with a woman driver when requesting an UberX or Uber Electric trip.

Favorite Driver allows riders to select specific drivers whom they'd like to be matched with when requesting Scheduled Rides. You can add drivers to your Favorite Driver list during the rating process on Scheduled Rides by tapping the Favorite button.
