No, according to Christian scripture, God promises never to leave or forsake His people, a promise emphasized in Hebrews 13:5, though feelings of abandonment can occur, often signaling God drawing closer or allowing spiritual challenges for deeper faith, with Jesus' cry on the cross representing the ultimate sacrifice to ensure His followers' eternal presence, not actual divine abandonment.
God never forsakes anyone who has not rejected Him first. If you have rejected Him and he still gives you a chance to repent and be accepted, it's something you didn't deserve, and is only a gift by God's grace—be thankful. Fortunately He is always willing to have mercy on those that repent.
Beloved, when you cry out to the Father for help today, know that He hears you and will surely help you. Because of Jesus, He will never turn His back on you!
That feeling was real for Christ. That feeling is real for many people today. But I do hope to remind myself that feeling forsaken is not the same as being forsaken, and that despite deep sorrow and loneliness and fear, God does not forsake us—ever.
Jesus said, “The one who comes to me, I will in no way cast out” (John 6). In other words, he's saying, “If you come to me, I'm not going to turn my back on you.” When we come to Jesus in faith, confessing our sins, he forgives us and cleanses us of all unrighteousness.
If you put your faith in Jesus you can be “100%” sure you are of going to heaven someday, not because you said a prayer, but because you put your faith in Jesus! Now share that good news with everyone you can!
God May Be Calling You to Intercession
Midnight to 3AM is the third watch. From 3AM to 6AM is the fourth. It was during this time that Jesus prayed and even walked on the water toward His disciples. Many believers sense that these hours carry heavy spiritual activity.
In the Bible God gets angry at human violence. He gets angry at powerful leaders who oppress other humans. And the thing that makes God more angry than anything else in the Bible is Israel's constant covenant betrayal.
Sometimes it feels like God has forsaken us. We don't hear his voice. We don't feel his presence. We struggle even to see his hand at work in the world.
The biggest unforgivable sin varies by faith, but in Christianity, it's often seen as blasphemy against the Holy Spirit, a persistent rejection of God's grace, while in Islam, the gravest unforgivable sin is shirk, or associating partners with God, if not repented. Pride is also considered a foundational, serious sin across many faiths, linked to the downfall of figures like Satan.
I want to assure you that for all those in Christ, the answer to this question is a resounding "Yes!" Yes, God will forgive all of your sins. Even the ones that have plagued you the longest and consumed you the most. God's forgiveness does not depend in the slightest degree on what you do or not do.
Romans 8:38-39 promises us that we cannot lose God's love. God will not kick us out of the family. In this way, His love makes us “more than conquerors” (Romans 8:37). When we know that nothing can separate us from God, not even death, we can approach each day with confidence.
Then I said that “the truth is, God has never forsaken anybody (Hebrews 13:5) but Jesus. Jesus said He was forsaken because when He took your sins and mine on Himself, there was a separation from the Father.”
Those conditions were: (1) the world needed to be philosophically prepared to receive the truth, (2) the world needed to be linguistically unified, (3) the world needed to be infrastructurally connected, and (4) the Jews needed to be ready for a savior.
The Psalmist expresses anguish only known to the innocent sufferer who feels abandoned by everyone including God: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, from the words of my groaning? O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer, and by night, but I find no rest.”
Injustice – God tells the prophet, Amos (5:21-24), that God hates worship and worship services when God's people don't also act outside of worship with justice and righteousness. Stubbornness about religious rules.
Proverbs 6:16-19 "These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among ...
God desires that His people seek forgiveness. Moreover, His wrath will never reach into eternity because of His grace. Regarding God's mercy, Spurgeon says that God is “rich in it, quick in it, overflowing with it.” As Micah observes: “He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love” (7:18).
In folklore, the witching hour or devil's hour is a time of night that is associated with supernatural events, whereby witches, demons and ghosts are thought to appear and be at their most powerful. Definitions vary, and include the hour immediately after midnight and the time between 3:00 am and 4:00 am.
If the time that you awaken is between 3:00 am and 5:00am, it could also be a sign of your Higher Power alerting you to pay attention to messages that are being sent to align you with your higher purpose.
What time did Jesus go to bed? As discussed previously, although there were times when Jesus would stay up all night to pray, it is likely that like most people in those times, he went to bed at nightfall and rose at first light.
