They both came in Voldemort's way and hence got killed in order to protect Harry. It should be noted that even if the prophecy didn't exist he would have wanted them killed anyway since they were prominent members of the Order of the Phoenix. The prophecy only made it a priority and made him want to personally do it.
However, the prophecy went on to say that Voldemort would mark the child as his equal, choosing the boy that he believed would be the most dangerous to him. Dumbledore believes Voldemort chose Harry because Harry was a half-blood, just like Voldemort.
Physically, Voldemort was annihilated. His body was completely destroyed. Metaphysically, his soul escaped destruction, and apparently lost at least some sense of who he was, because Voldemort's spirit vanished to Albania, where he roamed aimlessly for a decade.
When Snape heard the prophecy and pleaded with Voldemort to spare Lily's life, he may have inadvertently caused his downfall. While we know Voldemort killed Lily, he did give her a choice. 12. Snape's Last Words. In the [Deathly Hallows] book, Snape's dying words to Harry were "Look at me". Right then we did not realize the significance of his words but in the very next chapter when Harry goes through Snape's memories in the Pensieve, he comes to know how much Snape loved Lily.

Delphini, nicknamed Delphi, is the titular main antagonist of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Although she initially introduces herself as the niece of Amos Diggory, Delphi is in fact, the child of Lord Voldemort and Bellatrix Lestrange and has only one goal, restoring her father.
So when Harry came along , with James's untidy jet black hair and lily's green eyes , Snape didn't know how to feel . He had loved everything about lily , and therefore by extension loved her son , but Harry was James's son too. Truth was , he loved Harry as well.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
In the end, both were essential to Voldemort's downfall, fulfilling the possibility that both Harry and Neville were, in fact, the Chosen One. While Harry delivered the final blow to destroy Voldemort, Neville destroyed the final Horcrux which allowed Harry to end Voldemort.

"Lily! After all this time?" he asked and "Always," replied Snape. Snape having the same Patronus, the doe, as Lily symbolized his everlasting love and unwavering devotion towards her. He hadn't stopped loving her after their last altercation, marriage to James Potter, or death.
Dumbledore reveals how thoroughly he loves Harry. Harry is brave, and Dumbledore is proud as any father would be. More than that, Dumbledore succumbs to a parent's weakness; he cares more about Harry's happiness and wellbeing than the wizarding world he is trying to protect.
The biggest revelation in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was that Lord Voldemort had a daughter with Bellatrix Lestrange, who was named Delphini.
Merope, left to her own devices, managed to give Tom Riddle Senior a love potion, which made him fall in love with her. They eventually got married.
Delphini was likely imprisoned in Azkaban for the murder of Craig Bowker Jnr, as well as for the misuse of an unauthorised Time-Turner in a failed attempt to bring back her father and his evil reign.
In the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows book, Dumbledore admits to Harry that he only offered him scarce clues towards Voldemort's demise because he was afraid that Harry's hot-headedness would overwhelm his good heart if he were to know everything too soon.
Additionally, when Harry touches the ring, there is a flash of images as the ring reacts to him, which Dumbledore explains as an identifiable trace of lingering Dark magic.
