Rengoku is so loved due to his incredibly positive, charismatic, and selfless personality, embodying unwavering hope and strength, combined with his striking design, powerful fighting style, and tragic but inspiring devotion to protecting others, especially the weak, a core value instilled by his mother, making his sacrifice deeply impactful and beloved. He's seen as a beacon of light and mentorship, inspiring Tanjiro and fans alike with his infectious energy and powerful conviction, even in the face of overwhelming odds.
I would honestly say that Rengoku was probably the most respected, posthumously at least if not before his death.
Rengoku became our favorite Hashira for obvious reasons, but it's also true that his Flame abilities are one of the most powerful. This paired with his determination, empathetic and kind attitude, and his overall passionate personality, makes Rengoku #1 on this list.
He's kind, always positive, reliable, quick thinker, energetic but can be composed when necessary. What makes him so beloved is his pure heart. Rengoku gave his life to save 200 innocent lives as well as his fellow colleagues lives. He was fighting a losing battle the entire time but he never gave up.
Giyu and Kyojuro are the most well-liked Hashira due to their protective and warm nature. The Hashira of Demon Slayer are some of the most prominent characters in the series, and though ranking them on power is simple, ranking them on likability can be a lot more tricky.

As a human, Akaza's fiancée was Koyuki, the daughter of a martial arts instructor who took him under his wing. However, they were not married. Koyuki's death was the result of being poisoned by a rival dojo who could not defeat both Keizo and Hakuji.
Kyojuro hates Akaza because of their contrasting beliefs; the Upper Moon Rank Demon believes that weak humans just get in the way of others and that their existences are worthless where Kyojuro believes the weak are valuable and should be protected by the strong.
You can say Mitsuri wins with better feats, but solo performance without other Hashira interfering with the Muzan battle is more clear. She's above UM4 in base form while Rengoku (Full Power) beats Akaza who's upper 3 and then there's the Hierarchy system. But yeah, Mitsuri probably wins high-extreme diff.
By the end of the manga, only one Hashira survives and lives a full life: Tengen Uzui, the Sound Hashira. The rest meet tragic ends, either in battle or due to the toll of their Demon Slayer Marks.

Rengoku is probably the stronger of the two before Giyu gets it, but suffers from having died earlier on, before the marks were introduced. He kind of gets left behind by the EOS scaling, though not by a huge amount. Ultimately I think the style matchup favors Giyu, too.
If he hadn't killed Rengoku, Rengoku would have killed him. As far as I know, Akaza has never harmed women or girls — it was against his principles. He hated Douma for that reason. He also didn't like the other Upper Moons.
Now retired, Tengen Uzui was formerly the Sound Hashira within the Demon Slayer Corps. He is 23 years old, and his birthday is on October 31.
After Akaza's death, Doma says that he felt as if the Upper Rank had turned into a different creature before he died, and that his demise is inevitable because he never ate any women. Doma begins to cry over his "best friend"'s death, but Kanao just tells him to stop with the lies.

While many Hashira died in the fight, some survived: Giyu Tomioka, the Water Hashira, and Sanemi Shinazugawa, the Wind Hashira, both survive the final fight, carrying on the memory of their fallen comrades. Tanjiro also survives, and after the war, the Demon Slayer Corps disbands because demons are gone for good.
Although they are both demons, Akaza is seen in a more noble light compared to Doma.

Tengen is an eccentric and flashy individual, always wanting to be "flamboyant", possessing a need for everything to be flashy and outstanding, even proclaiming that he is the god of flashiness and festivals.
