YouTube has ended the experiment that locked the ability to watch videos in 4K behind its $11.99 a month premium membership, according to one of its official Twitter accounts (via 9to5Google).
4K UHD (or Ultra High Definition) refers to a higher quality of video than HD. On UHD, the picture will be sharper than on HD. Netflix itself does not clearly label whether content is 4K or not. Some movies and shows are available in 4K, others are limited to 1080p, or worse in a few cases. You can search for "4K" in the app itself to see some suggestions.
