Daemon chokes Rhaenyra in House of the Dragon due to a volatile mix of frustration, anger, and a sense of betrayal, stemming from her reluctance to fully commit to war, her perceived weakness, and the revelation that Viserys never shared the prophecy of Aegon's Dream with him, making him feel excluded and questioning his worth as heir. He lashes out because he sees her hesitation as a dangerous mistake, echoing his frustrations with Viserys, and his violent nature takes over when he feels slighted or that his plans are being thwarted.
Daemon is really angry because Rhaenyra is being passive. In his mind she wants to make peace with the greens when they possibly killed or poisoned Viserys (we see him checking for poison in ep 8 and he accuses Alicent of killing Viserys in ep 10) and they usurped the throne. Something that he very much wants.
Daemon is physically abusive to Rhaenyra
While inexcusable, Rhaenyra does seem shocked by Daemon's behavior, so we can hope that nothing similar had ever happened before. It was very interesting that House of the Dragon chose to show us these things in the final episode of the season.
Since the claim to the throne is in contention, Rhaenyra realizes her husband might claim it for himself. Trust permanently broken between them, Daemon storms off and leaves Dragonstone for Harrenhal on the back of Caraxes.
In the book, Mushroom suggests that Rhaenyra was seduced by Daemon and that he took her virginity while Mushroom suggests that Daemon knew that Rhaenyra desired Ser Criston Cole of the Kingsguard so he started to offer her tips and training on how to best seduce him (including teaching her to kiss).
So theologians had to explain how Mary could have been ever-virgin––by the standard of having an intact hymen––and given birth (recall that quote from the Lateran Council: Mary “gave birth to Him without injury, her virginity remaining equally inviolate after the birth”).
Rhaenyra Targaryen's love life proves to be troubled, fueling the misogyny that accepts men in her position with several lovers, but never one woman. In the book, there are hints of her lovers, and in the series, we have proof of each of them: her uncle, Daemon Targaryen, Ser Criston Cole, and soon, Ser Harwin Strong.
He's 100% in love with Rhaenyra. It's all over his dialogue, body language and the way he looks at her. He is tender with nobody else like he is with her. Even Matt Smith himself said the only 2 people Daemon loves are Viserys and Rhaenyra.

For the Two Betrayers it's simply a combination between greed for wealth and lust for powers. They aware that their dragons were bigger than everyone else besides Vhagar. Only their fears of Daemon revenge and hope for promotion made them think twice before betray the Half Year Queen.
Ser Criston, furious that Rhaenyra bestowed her garter on Ser Harwin instead of him, took it out on the other competitors, resulting in the death of Joffrey Lonmouth.
Vhagar was twice the size of Drogon and older/more experienced in battle. Wouldn't even be a close fight. Vhagar has upper hand that's for sure !!!
A confused Daemon chokes Rhaenyra and says, “Dreams didn't make us kings. Dragons did,” with Rhaenyra now realizing that Viserys never told Daemon about the Targaryen prophecy. Not only does this prove Rhaenyra's legitimacy to herself, but it also reveals more about the nature of Daemon and Viserys' relationship.

Alicent dies three years after Rhaenyra in "Fire and Blood."
Rhaenyra struggled to keep the smallfolk happy because she raised taxes to afford the conflict. Three years after Rhaenyra's death, Alicent is placed under house arrest because she fails to persuade her granddaughter to kill Rhaenyra's last surviving son.
After Viserys declared Rhaenyra as his rightful heir, the furious Daemon left for Dragonstone and took Mysaria with him. They remained there for six months, during which time Mysaria became pregnant; when Daemon learned of her pregnancy, he gave her a dragon egg, and by that infuriated Viserys.
Daemon fell in love with Laena (some people believe he saw Laena as a means to further his ambition), and asked Corlys for her hand in marriage.
For their betrayal, Hugh Hammer and Ulf White infamously became known as the Two Betrayers. It was believed that the treachery of the two dragonseeds was out of avarice, as they both resent the lands that Rhaenyra gave them and that Hugh and Ulf, who have a lust for power and wealth, desired to become lords.
So we all know that obviously Aegon married Rhaenys for love and Visenya for duty - Rhaenys was the favourite wife and Visenya was more of a backup in a way.
Jacaerys is diplomatic and a tactician. Not to mention that 2 of Rhaenyra's kids became kings. Viserys II is considered to be one of the greatest kings in Westeros next to Jaehaerys and the Conqueror. He is also considered a competent statesman.
In the A Song of Ice and Fire novels, the Targaryens continued to incestuously marry brother to sister "to keep the bloodlines pure" as had their ancestors in the Valyrian Freehold. For a time, at least, they also continued to practice polygamous marriages.
