You have two Messenger apps because of a phone feature like Samsung's Dual Messenger, designed to run two separate accounts (e.g., work & personal) on one device, or you might have separate apps for a Facebook Page, a second profile, or different accounts on different devices, often indicated by a small icon overlay. Sometimes, it's due to an app update or cloning, creating duplicate icons for managing different identities easily.
Although Facebook doesn't allow the use of multiple names on the platform, some people find themselves with more than one profile. In that case, you'll have a messenger account to go with your second profile, just as you'd be issued one for your primary profile and page.
Dual Messenger lets you send and receive messages from two different accounts on the same messaging app. Dual Messenger creates a duplicate app, making it easy to keep your work and personal messages separate on the same device.
Step 1: Open the Settings app on your Android device. Step 2: Scroll down and tap on "Apps" or "Apps & notifications" depending on your device. Step 3: Tap on "App Manager" or "Manage apps." Step 4: Select the messaging app for which you want to disable Dual Messenger.
Remove a Messenger account
Tap your profile name at the top. Swipe left on the account you want to remove. Tap Delete. Tap Remove.

Go to Settings -> Basic -> App Secret (type your password and you're ready to go).
Facebook's secret messenger feature allows users to talk to one another in a completely private and closed-off chat. Secret Conversations enables two friends to speak to each other in an encrypted space which no-one else, including Facebook, is able to view.
Lock icon: All the text messages that are end-to-end encrypted have a lock icon next to them. This lock icon indicates that only the sender and receiver can see the messages, keeping them hidden from others, even Facebook. If you notice this icon, it's a sign of a secret conversation.
To get Messenger back to normal, try restarting the app and your phone, checking for updates, clearing the cache, or reinstalling it; if it's a theme issue, disable dark mode or reset chat themes to default in settings, ensuring you have a stable internet connection and enough storage space.
After turning on the Dual apps, a new copy can be generated based on the current APP. Both can run at the same time without affecting each other. After uninstalling the predominant APP, the Dual apps will be deleted at the same time, and a prompt will be displayed when uninstalling.
Deactivating and deleting Facebook Messenger are two distinct options when it comes to quitting the app. Deactivating Facebook Messenger is a milder option for those wanting to take only a temporary break without permanently losing access to their chats and stored information.
Turn notifications on or off for multiple accounts
Tap Notifications & sounds. Tap Toggle next to Notifications when logged out to turn notifications while logged out on or off.
