Other research in the Journal of Experimental Social Psychology shows that men think women in red are more attractive because they seem more sexually receptive (a.k.a. open to getting down). Bottom line: It's a color with some interesting connotations.
In a series of five experiments in 2008, psychologists Andrew Elliot and Daniela Niesta found that the colour red “leads men to view women as more attractive and more sexually desirable“. A 2012 study found that men gave higher tips to waitresses dressed in red, compared to waitresses in white.

Passion and Desire. But red does not always signal danger and aggression. Perhaps not surprisingly, red is also linked to passion, love, and desire. These associations could explain why people wearing red are consistently rated as more attractive by the opposite sex.

A recent study finds that women wear red when they believe they're meeting an attractive man and avoid the color when they're around men they aren't attracted to, proving women subconsciously use color to express romantic interest.
In addition to size and body shape, clothing colour has also been found to be important in attractiveness ratings, with several studies suggesting that red clothing makes women appear more attractive to men, possibly because of its association with love and passion.
