Thanks to their past, Leia was confident that Ben would not fail her when she sent C-3PO and R2-D2 to recruit him against the burgeoning fight against the Galactic Empire. In universe old Ben was a close family friend. He was a mentor to Luke and obviously Lea had known him for a while since she knew him well enough to know he was her only hope.
We now know that Leia didn't just contact Obi-Wan because she'd learned that he might be useful to the rebellion or because he was a legendary figure whose reputation preceded him. She actually has a pretty serious history with him!

Theory 1: Leia Doesn't Remember Ben Is Obi-Wan
Throughout her encounters with Kenobi in the series, he refers to himself as Ben. The most straightforward explanation would be that Leia knows the person who rescued her is Ben, and never connected the dots that Ben is actually Obi-Wan.
However, Leia's strong-mindedness during Vader's probe denied him the opportunity to discover she was his daughter. That serves to justify Vader's lack of awareness of his connection to Leia, although, perhaps, not as satisfyingly as if Lucas had planned for the relationship from the beginning.
Darth Vader only learned he had a daughter in Return of the Jedi - but there's no evidence he realized she was Leia before his death and redemption.
Following the Wampa attack during the movie's opening scenes on Hoth; Leia, Han, and Chewie visit Luke in the infirmary. Leia is annoyed with Han, who insists she has feelings for him, so she kisses Luke to prove she doesn't. Presumably, the scene was simply meant to make Han jealous.
Anakin, who has since become the Sith Lord Darth Vader, is unaware of his children's birth. The twins soon became part of the Rebel Alliance following the deaths of their adoptive families at the hands of the Empire.
Han Solo marries Princess Leia and they have three children: twins named Jacen and Jaina, and a younger son named Anakin.
Leia does not seem to react to tragedy. Instead, she has this wonderful ability to stay perfectly alert, reasonable, and careful of the feelings of others. She witnessed the destruction of her entire planet, and still had the mental and emotional strength to escape with Luke and Obi-Wan.
Leia doesn't get to reunite with Obi-Wan, and instead, just before escaping with Han and Luke, she sees his murder. Of course, Leia doesn't know Darth Vader is her father yet, either in A New Hope and certainly not in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Obi-Wan's impact on Leia is equally as meaningful. After rescuing her multiple times, she views him as a protector. When the two are parted, she is not only frustrated that he would leave her but also concerned for his safety.
However, rather than be an oversight or plot hole, Leia might not have remembered old Ben for one sinister reason. This has to do with Ben's Jedi powers, namely the mind trick. As he grew older, he'd use it on Stormtroopers to protect Luke Skywalker.
Having revealed that he used to be a Jedi Padawan under Luke Skywalker, Ben Solo changed his name to Kylo Ren in order to escape his lineage after turning to the dark side. However, he kept a tie to his heritage when creating his new moniker.
Canon comics
Han is a main character in the 2015 Star Wars comic series. Issue #6 introduces Sana Starros as Han Solo's wife, although a few issues later she is revealed to have only married him as part of a plan to scam a crime lord's gambling den.
She does not have a baby bump, her hand never goes to her stomach to indicate she's carrying a child, and there wasn't exactly any time for her to have conceived a child with anyone in the course of the film, including Kylo Ren/Ben Solo.
Of course, the Father almost immediately wiped Anakin's memory, because he couldn't very well achieve balance knowing what he knew of his future. That's very interesting, though. It means that the Father knew that Anakin will become Vader, will destroy the Jedi, will literally annihilate whole worlds….
It's well known that Star Wars lead characters Luke Skywalker and Princess (now General) Leia are brother and sister. The estranged siblings didn't know about their familial relationship until "Return of the Jedi." They even shared a passionate kiss in the previous movie, "The Empire Strikes Back."

The real answer is: When the original trilogy was written and filmed, Anakin Skywalker was not the creator of C3PO. There was no consideration given to who Vader would recognize, because there was no reason for Vader to recognize the droid, at all.
She also knows Obi-Wan, and she knows him well. Her holographic plea for help, already iconic, will never be the same. She knows Obi-Wan's real name as well as his alias of “Ben.” When Luke comes barging into her cell and says, “I'm here with Ben Kenobi,” Leia jumps off the bunk in an instant.
Darth Vader Likely Hates Padmé
In other words, Vader could only be in love with the Padmé before she betrayed him and hates her for not accepting what he became. In 2017's Darth Vader series, the eponymous fallen Jedi goes out of his way to deform Padmé's personal shuttle he later acquires.
