Daemon Targaryen killed his wife, Rhea Royce, because he was frustrated with their loveless, unconsummated marriage, despised living in the Vale, and saw her death as a way to free himself to pursue marrying his niece, Rhaenyra, for political power and heirs, ultimately snapping after Rhea mocked him and his inability to perform, prompting him to finish her off with a rock after a fall.
Daemon remains silent and tries to approach her horse, frightening it and making Rhea wary.
