It could be argued that the younger Dumbledore is more powerful because of his ability to duel on equal footing with Grindelwald with an ordinary wand. But the use of the Elder Wand enhances Dumbledore's ability, and the elder Dumbledore has knowledge and experience that he didn't have in his younger days.
Put simply, Dumbledore is more skilled than Grindelwald (which he has stated in Deathly Hallows himself) hence winning the wand was possible. He beat Grindelwald and won the wand's allegiance where the wand recognized the one who was more powerful and skilled.
At the walk of the Qilin, Grindelwald tried to kill Credence Barebone causing Dumbledore and his brother Aberforth to protect him from the Killing Curse. The blood pact fell to the ground and shattered. Dumbledore wasn't sure why it broke, telling Newt that "he sought to kill, I sought to protect. Our spells met.
The duel was one of the most well known duels in the world, and one of Dumbledore's most famous moments, with Dumbledore winning the duel and the Elder Wand's allegiance. According to Elphias Doge, eye-witnesses proclaimed it the greatest wizarding duel of all time.

1 Albus Dumbledore
Even before the rise of Voldemort, Dumbledore had already proven himself to be the very best around by defeating his former partner Grindelwald in an epic duel.
Dumbledore got the Elder Wand by defeating Grindelwald in their legendary 1945 duel, which sees Albus face off with and conquer his former friend turned great rival once and for all and take the wand for his own as its rightful new owner.
Dumbledore may have been a legendary wizard, but he can't be compared to, well, Merlin, a wizard so legendary even Muggles know of his exploits. Merlin was the world's most famous wizard, and, arguably, the world's most powerful.
While Dumbledore is a powerful wizard, Gandalf's innate magical abilities and experience in leadership and diplomacy give him an edge in a battle between the two. While the outcome of a battle between the two would depend on the circumstances, Gandalf would win more often than not.
Even decades after the duel with his old friend (or even lover, depending on who you ask), Gellert Grindelwald still valued their past relationship. Voldemort was a bit of a personal rival for him since he was Dumbledore's enemy, and Grindelwald didn't want to help him.
Credence Barebone Isn't Voldemort's Dad But He Could Be Snape's Grandfather.
Credence may well be related to Voldemort, but it would have to be through Voldemort's grandmother. That also means the mystery woman must've had a second child: Merope Gaunt, born in 1907. It's entirely possible that Aberforth could have sired a child with Voldemort's grandmother.

Not only did her husband end up being incarcerated in Azkaban, but the whole family had to move from Mould-On-The-Wold, to Godric's Hollow to try and protect her youngest.
When the Dark Lord used Avada Kedavra for the final time in the Harry Potter series, the spell deflected due to Harry's ownership of the Elder wand, killing Voldemort with his own signature spell. Following Voldemort's demise, the Unforgivable Curses were strictly deemed illegal by the Ministry of Magic.
In order to conjure the avada kedavra curse, you have to want to kill your victim. We all know that Voldemort could easily kill a child without an ounce of remorse... but not Snape. Snape didn't want to kill Dumbledore, and this was why the spell was blue instead of the usual green.
Though Harry encountered many opportunities that deemed Avada Kedavra necessary, it remains as one of the Unforgivable Curses Harry Potter never cast. For one, he viewed the spell as an immoral practice commonly used by users of the Dark Arts.
At the end of the series, Dumbledore admits to Harry that power is his ultimate weakness. He was always conscious of it, and he feared that power had the potential to corrupt him beyond help. That's why he never accepted the Ministry of Magic position even after it was offered several times.
No ,Harry was not powerful than Dumbledore. Dumbledore had single-handedly defeated Grindelwald,the dark Lord of their days, while Grindelwald had the Elder wand. This shows that Dumbledore is powerful.
Even when battling Voldemort, in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore never uses lethal magic. In the duel, Dumbledore is definitely on par with Voldemort, and Voldemort is seen to be annoyed that he can't overpower Dumbledore.
