Besides Gol D. Roger and Shanks, several characters have worn Luffy's iconic Straw Hat, including Nami, Nico Robin, Usopp, Sweet Pea, and Tama, often symbolizing trust, comfort, or connection, with Luffy himself entrusting it to Nami and Usopp (as Afro Luffy), while Robin took it briefly, and Sweet Pea and Tama wore it as signs of respect or friendship.
Straw Hats
Yeah. Also Robin wore it on top of her cowboy hat when she was first introduced. Also a girl from amazon lily also wore it when Luffy was unconcious. And Tama at Wano also wore it.
The legendary Straw Hat Luffy wears has a crazy history! It originally belonged to Gol D. Roger, the King of the Pirates, before being passed to Shanks, who later gave it to Luffy. This hat isn't just a fashion statement—it's a symbol of dreams, willpower, and absolute freedom on the high seas!

The "D." in One Piece (the "Will of D.") is a major, unresolved mystery, but theories suggest it represents Dawn, symbolizing a new era and liberation, or possibly Devil/Demon, linking them as enemies of the Celestial Dragons, while also often signifying bearers of grand dreams like Luffy, Roger, and Ace who possess immense willpower and destiny, often laughing in the face of death.
Alright so here's my theory; During the journey of finding the Poneglyphs and learning about Laughtale and JoyBoy with Roger, Shanks learned the truth about JoyBoy somehow(probably through a haki thing) and that he knew Luffy would become JoyBoy.
Nami is the 3rd member of the straw hats.
While Luffy stays as the strongest Straw Hat in One Piece, fans also know very well that the weakest of the bunch is Usopp. It is quite close between Usopp and Nami, but the latter has had more shine lately, and even though he has a 500 million bounty on his head, Usopp is, undoubtedly, the weakest Straw Hat.

I think Sanji has more selflessness and kindness and Zoro has more loyalty meaning Zoro will live his life for Luffy while Sanji will die for the crew, they are very similar but not quite the same.

There is a scene where Rogers mentions not having a son. This can't be true since Ace is a son of his. He didn't have Ace during that scene, it's not that hard to understand... And no, Shanks is not Roger's son.
There is a suggestion that Joy Boy was backstabbed by Zunesha and The Iron Giant, possibly due to being fooled by the 20 kingdoms, leading to his defeat.
While not blood-related, Luffy and Gol D. Roger share a connection through Ace, who is Roger's son and considered a brother by Luffy. Furthermore, characters like Crocus and Gan Fall have remarked on Luffy's resemblance to Roger, implying a deeper bond.
