Unknown date, 1946: Tom Riddle murders Hepzibah Smith, sending a piece of his soul into Helga Hufflepuff's cup. It becomes the third Horcrux.
Hufflepuff's Cup was a magical item created by Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was a small golden cup with two finely-wrought handles with a badger engraved on the side and a few jewels. The badger is the symbol of Hufflepuff House.
The cup was passed down through the Hufflepuff family, and through the centuries made its way to Hepzibah Smith, a descendant who kept the cup as a priceless heirloom. In 1946, Smith showed the cup to Tom Marvolo Riddle, who was at that time employed at Borgin and Burkes.
The diary. Lord Voldemort's first Horcrux was created when he was still at Hogwarts, known then as Tom Riddle. After murdering a schoolgirl called Myrtle, with the help of the ancient monster that dwelled within the castle, the Basilisk, his soul was split for the first time.
At some point in time, Lord Voldemort gave Bellatrix Lestrange Hufflepuff's Cup, one of his Horcruxes, to keep safe in her vault, though he didn't tell her its true nature.
Bellatrix used a powerful "love potion" on Voldemort and they have sex while he is temporarily obsessed with her. She then uses obliviate on him while he sleeps (you know, he falls asleep after his post-sex cigarette) and tells everyone that the baby is her and her husband's.
Ginny is a pureblood witch born 11 August 1981, the seventh child and only daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley. She attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and is sorted into Gryffindor house, along with the rest of her family.
Voldemort intentionally made six Horcruxes, but when he used Avada Kedavra on Harry, he unintentionally created a seventh Horcrux. Instead of dying, Lily's love for Harry created a counter 'curse' known as Sacrificial Protection and saved Harry.
So when Ron said three, it wasn't a mistake. He meant there were three more horcruxes to destroy before being able to destroy the fourth and final piece which was in fact Voldemort himself.
A Horcrux is considered destroyed when it's damaged beyond repair. In the case of living Horcruxes, “damaged beyond repair” would mean dead. So, yes, Avada Kedavra can destroy a Horcrux, as long as that Horcrux is a living being.
As things currently stand, Slytherin has won 3 cups, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff have each won 2 cups, and Gryffindor has won 1 cup. Ravenclaw was also the only house to win back-to-back house cups. Artwork of their common room as wallpapers and screensavers for their electronic devices.
Only Gryffindor and Slytherin are ever mentioned in the books to have won the House Cup. While Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff almost certainly have won the Cup, they have never been presented with it in the books. They may have won it while Harry was at school but during the years not specified.
History. Starting in June 1986, Slytherin won the House Cup for seven years in a row. In the 1991-1992 school year, Nearly Headless Nick found the Bloody Baron unbearable because he kept boasting about Slytherin winning every year. Nick hoped that the new Gryffindor students could lead their House to victory for once.
Salazar Slytherin owned a locket emblazoned with the letter "S", which became an heirloom of his last known line of descendants, the Gaunts.
Nagini is the last Horcrux that Voldemort created and the last one to be destroyed. During the final battle of Hogwarts, Neville pulls the sword of Godric Gryffindor from the Sorting Hat and beheads Nagini, destroying the last Horcrux.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
In this book, Rowling reveals that Bellatrix is the guardian of Helga Hufflepuff's cup (though she is unaware that it is a Horcrux), which Voldemort has entrusted the Lestranges to keep in their Gringotts vault.
Scabbers was actually, as we know, Peter Pettigrew, an unregistered animagus hiding out as the Weasley's pet rat. No matter how hard he focussed his intention on turning the rat yellow, or even if he'd said the words rattus colovaria (erm, we did our best) the spell would never have worked because the rat wasn't a rat.
According to The Leaky Cauldron, when a fan asked if Hermione made sure that her parents could remember her again, Rowling said, "she brought them home straight away." This is good news, as it's awful to imagine Hermione's parents never remembering who she is or ever seeing her again.
Quirrell tried to put up feeble resistance on occasion, but Voldemort was far too strong for him. Quirrell is, in effect, turned into a temporary Horcrux by Voldemort. He is greatly depleted by the physical strain of fighting the far stronger, evil soul inside him.
Draco Malfoy's mother Narcissa was cold, cunning and devoted to the Dark Lord. But she was also a mother, which meant she was willing to risk everything to make sure her son was safe. When Harry survived Voldemort's Killing Curse for the second time, Narcissa pretended he was dead so she could get to Draco.
The most likely reason why Lord Voldemort's nose disappeared and he devolved into such an evil-looking creature is that as he dabbled deeper into the Dark Arts, his appearance gradually became as distorted as what remained of his twisted soul.
Voldemort wanted to humiliate Dumbledore, not kill him directly. Plus the story wouldn't allow it, the book would have been over so quickly. Voldemort was a dark lord that could have also been killed MANY times with the killing curse, but what story would there be if that happened?
The Prince of Slytherin is a title bestowed upon members of Slytherin House who are able to impress the Hydra Throne and gain control over Slytherin House through subtle methods.
Ginevra Molly Weasley (also known as Ginny) is the youngest child and only daughter of the Weasley family. She is Sorted into Slytherin during Harry and Jim Potter's second year.
Harry is the Heir of Gryffindor (though his powers have been bound by his father when he was a baby), Neville is the Heir of Hufflepuff, Meghan (OFC, daughter of Sirius) is the Heir of Ravenclaw. Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione, Remus/Tonks.
