There isn't one single "highest figure" across all of Islam, but Prophet Muhammad is universally revered as the final messenger and most important prophet, while leaders like the Grand Imam of al-Azhar (Sunni) and Grand Ayatollahs (Shia) hold significant religious authority in specific traditions.
