Galadriel is generally considered far stronger and more powerful than Elrond due to her greater age, birth in Valinor under the Two Trees, direct tutelage from the Valar, and possession of the powerful ring Nenya, though Elrond is a formidable loremaster, leader, and wielder of Vilya (the mightiest of the Three Rings) with immense wisdom and experience, making them both exceptionally powerful, but Galadriel holds the edge in innate power and ancient knowledge.
He can't simply leave Galadriel to her fate, though. So, we must intuit that Elrond kissed Galadriel in order to distract Adar and the Uruk (who were so shocked that two characters who have no business kissing were kissing they forgot to pay attention) from the rest of what he was doing.
Oh, Galadriel is one of the most powerful elves of all time, and easily the most powerful still in Middle Earth by the Third Age. To the Hobbits she would have appeared as a goddess. But we're comparing her to Gandalf the White at the height of his power, and he's as far beyond her as she is beyond the Hobbits.

Nenya wielding Galadriel would have easily defeated Winged Balrog without dying or receiving an upgrade unlike Gandalf. Nenya Water Power rules. Gandalf, a Maiar, fought the Balrog, another Maiar, to the death of both, and was reincarnated, either by a Valar, or Eru himself to finish the War.
It's not the years; it's the mileage. Gandalf isn't a Maia in the same way Sauron is. He was sent to middle earth as an old man, so his body is much more real than Sauron's “raiment”. He can't use his power to the same extent, he can't change his forms at will.

Círdan was one of the oldest and wisest elves in Middle-earth, and was the Lord of the Falas during the First Age and Lord of Lindon during the Third Age.
Aragorn's ancestor Elros was half elf and brother to Elrond. Elros chose to be mortal and so all his descendants were also mortal, even though they were still very long lived.
