Slytherin's main rival house is Gryffindor, a rivalry stemming from the founders' disagreement over blood purity and continuing through centuries of competition for the House Cup and Quidditch championships, with other houses generally siding with Gryffindor against Slytherin.
Because of their disagreement over pure-blood and Muggle-born students, Gryffindor, Slytherin and their respective houses at Hogwarts became rivals.
Slytherins and Ravenclaws - Slytherins hate rules and Ravenclaws are ingenious. Together they can take over the world or create amazing spells. Or they can hate eachother with a fury and rage.
Hermione is sorted into Gryffindor because she can use her smarts to good use and use them in times of need instead of locking up and running. Hermione is above all Courageous and Loyal, she holds her friends above her books.
Hufflepuff is often considered the worst house at Hogwarts because it hasn't contributed as much to magic as other houses, except for a few exceptions like Newt Scamander. Hufflepuffs are known for their hard work but it rarely leads to major magical discoveries.
Here's our list of all eight films, ranked from the worst to the best!
Hufflepuffs are just the most humble of all the houses and don't feel the need to shout about their achievements in the same way as the others.
As for Ron, Hufflepuff is probably the worst house for him. He's not hard-working (unless he really has to be), particularly tolerant (look at his treatment of Krum, for instance), or patient (see the first half of Deathly Hallows).
McGonagall was a Hatstall
Yep, the Sorting Hat nearly didn't place McGonagall in the house of courage and chivalry but thought the house of wit and wisdom, Ravenclaw, might have been where she belonged instead. The Hat was so torn, it took over five minutes to make its decision – thus making Minerva a Hatstall.
Her real parents were Daneel and Dean Novak, Pureblooded wizards. Turns out Daneel was Tom Riddles younger sister, Daneel Riddle. Of course, the Riddles were related to Salzar Slytherin himself, and this made Hermione the living heir of Slytherin. The problem with being a female Slytherin heir, is that they're cursed.
If there's anything a Slytherin loves, it's a loyal follower, and a Hufflepuff embodies this to a tee. Want a partner you can rely on, especially if things turn dark? Only a Hufflepuff will endeavour to see the good through the bad, no matter what.

Unfortunately, out of all the Hogwarts houses, Hufflepuff has gotten the most amount of flack, with Draco Malfoy even threatening to leave Hogwarts for good if he was sorted into the worst Hogwarts house. Obviously Percy is a least favorite, but I also feel like he's such an important character for the plot of the story. His character shows how easy it is to get sucked into propaganda and do the wrong thing even when you've been raised properly, and how political discord can tear families apart.
The main LGBTQ+ character confirmed by J.K. Rowling is Albus Dumbledore, revealed to be gay and to have had a passionate, intense love relationship with the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald in their youth, though this isn't explicitly detailed in the books but rather in later interviews and supplementary materials. While not canon, some fans also interpret other characters like Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, or even Harry Potter as queer, but Dumbledore and Grindelwald are the key confirmed figures.
