Believing he was losing his master's favor, Kaigaku began to despise Zenitsu for being merely a weak and timid man who earned his master's favor out of dumb luck. Thus, he started to bully Zenitsu constantly.

Doma is not Inosuke's biological father. He is, however, responsible for Inosuke's orphaned state, having killed his mother, Kotoha Hashibira, when Inosuke was still an infant. This led to Inosuke being raised by boars. Inosuke later seeks revenge against Doma, culminating in a battle between them.

He is shown to care a lot for Tanjiro, which is further seen when he becomes greatly angered when Akaza attempts to kill Tanjiro, losing his usual stoic demeanour and jumping in to protect him from the Upper Rank.
